Earlier this year I traced John Bence's birth place to Kelston (4 miles from Bitton) where there is a family grave with several of his relatives. I have transcribed the baptism register which is now available on FreeReg. It appears that the information concerning James and Martha on the LDS site was not based on fact but was pure speculation based on the names of the children.
