1920 they are living in Fayetteville, W. Va,as Bender in 1910 in Fayetteville W.Va as Bundar 1900 in the town of Shenendoah, Schuykill County, Pa, occupation coal miners. In 1900 Andrew stated he emmigrated with his wife to the US in 1888 and it appears he filed his petition to become a citizen in Schuykill County, that will be found in the Prothonatary's office and the petition will hopefully give you his place of birth, before 1920 women did not apply because they could not vote. He was naturalized in 1890 from the info he gave in the 1910 census so he was probably naturalized in Schuykill County. The emmigrant would file the petition to become a citizen then have to wait the period of time prescribed by law then he could take the oath and become a citizen. The name Bender when said in early German sounded like Painter or Panther or Bainter so there were all kinds of name changes, but Bender was the name. He gives his place of birth as Poland - Russia, Russia, and spoke Lettisch, Lithuanian. So order the naturalization papers from the Schuykill Prothonatary's office and go from there. Mark
