I have no clue if this will help or not but I have a birth regester for my great grandfather. He was born in Eperjes Presov 10 Sep 1893. He was baptised a few days later. The register has listed two names for his godparents. The first is Jozsef Szabol and the second is Anna Klimko. The only other info on the document is that jozsef was a carpenter and that he and Anna where both Roman Catholic. I have no clue if these two where married or just friends of my great-great grandparents. I hope this helps. I am just starting my search so if you have come across any other info since 2001 that may help I would be beholding to you. Thanks. Glenn Martony.

How interesting it is! In my collection of possible ancestors name Daniel Benedikti (or Benedicti) appears not less than 30 times. And you can find my maternal greatgrandfather among them. He must be born in Dunaegyhaza in 1799 and died in Apostag in 1864.
I can share my collection from parish records taken in Apostag and Dunaegyhaza from 1735 until 1894 if you are interested in it.
Not sure if we are related or not, but my grandfather on my mother's side was named Louis Benedek. His family came to the US in the early 1900. He was born here but returned to Hungary with his family. All returned but a older brother and sister who I am told settled in the Chicago area. The family lost contact with them. My grandfather married and had 10 children but only 8 survived to adulthood. They came to the US in 1956 and settled in New Jersey. I also am just starting to try and find out about my family history and to see if there are any family members from my grandfather's family I can find.
thank-you for any help you may be able to give me and good luck on your search.
Helen Pfeiffer

benedek family name

My father's name was Arpad Benedek (he died
at age 36 in 1947,1948?)and he was from
Balatonszemes,Somogy. He was a public school
teacher and church organist in a village
called Somogyvar, Somogy. There may not be
a connection at all with your line but it is
very interesting researching family history.
The Benedek family name has a lot of different
roots. Finding which branch is quite difficult.
A lot of records in Hungary have been lost
because of wars and not maintaining family
burial plots, as well as boundaries changing.
I hope you find your family ancestors.

(Kis-baczoni Benedek csalad)

(F. bold. asszonyfalvi Benedek)

(Benedikti Benedekfalva)

He was a
schoolteacher and village organist
in Somogyvar(before the 2nd world war)
and died shortly after it ended, from TB.
Perhaps Joseph Benedek who immigrated to
the US in the 1800s is distantly related and
from that area?
Benedek family history

My first time attempting to build my family tree. My father Louis Benedek was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana. Except for his siblings and their children, we really have very little information.
My father was born 01-24-1915 and passed away 01-10-2000. Had a brother William who passed away approx. 1981 and a sister Helen who is still living. My father was known as Potsy Benedek and was enshrined in the Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. William Benedek was a police officer in East Chicago, Indiana. My father married Gertrude Miotke 11-25-1936 and they were professional square dancers in Chicago, Illinois. Anxious to hear from anyone connected or not connected to our family. Marsha Benedek
