Teresa Benevento

Hi, I am the granddaughter of Teresa Benevento from the Naples area (Torre Annunziata, Italy). She married Luigi Gesuero and came to American around 1919 and they settled in New Haven, Conn. Her parents were Pasquale Benevento and Angelica DiCapua.

Can anyone tell me any information on their relatives in Italy? Are any of you related?

Hello Joe,
My father is from Pietrapertosa, and his mom from Castelmezzano. My dad and uncle are very much alive and kicking and can recall a lot of information on the name.
My dad came to Canada in 1960 and my mom thereafter (a Romualdi).
There are not many Beneventi's in Canada, however, I set up a group on facebook called "Beneventi's from around the world". You may connect with someone else that has additional information.
My dad also has a cousin in New York City that is also a Beneventi.
Where are you from?
Are you a relative or doing this for someone else?

I had the privillage of inviting all the 'Beneventi's' from around the world to my facebook account and found some really neat information about relatives from Modena.
Some time ago, in 1908, a few Beneventi's went off to Panama to help build the canal. Years later they settled in Chile.
There are many Beneventi's from Modena in Chile.

A Marcello Beneventi Alfaro wrote (in Spanish): "A ver si saben, Llegaron desde Italia de un Pueblo que se llama lamamocogno en la provincia de Modena comuna de Pavullo nel Frignano region de Emilia Romagna, Michele y Mazuetta, quienes tenian cinco hijos, la mayor Maria que quedo en Italia, quien es la Nonna de Arrigo Baruffi (más de alguno lo debe conocer) y los cuatro restantes que son Alfredo, Guido, Ettore y Pablo quienes llegaron a Capitán Pastene, todos los Beneventi que se encuentran en Chile descienden de estos valientes hermanos que llegaron a engrandecer eate País. ¿Alguíen sabe más, los invito a saber un poco más de la familia, sería fascinante juntarse en algún lugar para conocernos todos PROPONGAN UNA REUNION"

Jerome, Please tell me more about you and your father's side of the Beneventi Family. As I stated before, I have a Great Uncle Eugene on my side, born and raised in Thurber, Texas. I was told by his brother Reco, my Great Uncle, that his brother would go to Illinois for spurts of time and no one knew what he was doing there. Perhaps he had a child there, and that could be your father, (Eugene Jr.) Or perhaps my Great Uncle Eugene had a cousin who named your father Eugene also. Are you the Jerome who I saw on the web lastnight...the 2o something Marine?

I also am researching my relatives from Modena Italy. Mostly from Riolunato area. They include Beneventi and Rasponi. Most settled in Illinois and Iowa when first coming to the States in the early 1900's. Anyone with any information would be greatly appreciated.

Where was he born?

I have a great uncle Eugene from Thurber Texas.
Seems as thogh he had spent some time in Chicago, Il.

I don't know if this helps you buthere goes. My grand father was Nicola Benevento he came from Montemarano his parents were Vincenzo teresa (gallo) Benevento I don't know when he came to America. He sent for his wife Mary (Celli) around 19120r1913 and setteled in Brooklyn for a few years before moving to Massachusetts.

In reference to Eugene Beneventi.
My great uncle who is 89 in Thurber Texas had a brother named Eugene Beneventi. He passed away many years ago.
But as far as we know.......he never married nor had any children.
Do you think our Eugene could be your father?

You must be at least 45 to 55 years old. Am I right?

My grandmother's father was Nicholas Benevenuto married to Marie Concetta Balisteri. They were married in Italy and came together to America.
My grandmother was Anna Benevenuto Ruberton.

I am the grandaughter of Luigi Vacca who immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts from Benevento Italy, 1909-10. He was born on February 18, 1889. He married Guisepina Satriale (Saterial). They had three children, I never knew his parents names, and would like to trace the family for my children.

My greatgrandfather is Orizio Benevento he was to have stowed away to the US at about 15yrs old. He married Marie(Mary) Theresa Albano who came to the US with her parents Rocco Albano and Frances Vancensa. Orizio and Maria had 9 children: Mary, John, Frances, Orocco,Christina,Paul, Assunta(sisie), Orizio(Rod) & Catherine. We know Maria died in about 1962-1965. I came across a few OLD family pictures of the Benevento family. They are of the family of Frank and Charles Benevento, who were podiatrists in the suburban Chicago area. Their father was Vincent Benevento - who died in 1947. If these make any sense to you - I am more than willing to send them to you. I am trying to do some research on the Benevento name. My mother died when I was five years old-1973. Her name was Virginia Ann Benevento. She married Leonard Sweeney. My ancestors were: Donato Benevento and he married Nicoletta Sodo and one of their sons was Antonio Vincenzo Benevento and he married Carmela Lucrezia Vitacco and one of their daughters Isabella Elizabetta Benevento and she married Angelo Paradiso and one of their sons Vincenzo Paradiso married Domenica Tomaccio(Tomacci) and one of their sons was Nicola D. Paradiso(my grandfather) and he married his cousin Rosa Luisi. My grandmother's parents were Domenico Luisi and Theresa Tomaccio(Tomacci).
