Re: Richard Stewart Bennefield

Richard Stewart Bennefield was known as Stewart Bennefield when he married Elizabeth Dewitt, December 6, 1832. I know of two children a Haram R. and Peter V. Bennefield. In 1840 Richard Stewart Benefiel was divorced from Elizabeth Dewitt in 1841.

In 1841 Elizabeth Dewitt remarried a Michael Rice in shelby county.

Richard Stewart Benefiel remarried to a Susan Lamphier in 1843. This must have been a short lived marriage as he was divorce and started a new family in Savanna, Illinois.

His first child with Martha Reiber was in 1848, according to my records. I am related threw his daughter Margaret who was born in 1856. They had five children together Oillo, Ellen, James, Lucetta, and Margaret.

The information gathered by Lucetta Belle Benefiel is as follows.

Richard Stewart Benefiel
Born: April 24, 1803, Bourbon County, Kentucky
Died: February 5, 1877, Savanna,Carrol County, Illinois

"I have found him listed in many census records under the following names."

Stewart Benefield)
Richard S Benefiel

"His parents are presumed to be Samuel Benefiel and Elizabeth "Betsy Stewart, they married March 21, 1799."

Samuel was born about 1774 in Pennsylvania or Kentucky. He died in Perrysville, Vermillion County, Indiana, March 17, 1854. He first appeared in the tax list in Boubon County, Kentucky, in 1795. Later moving to butler County, Ohio around July of 1817. He is presumed to have died shortly after 1829.

my great great great grandfathers name was Seaborn Bennefield, i dont know if this is the same one, and its been a long time since yall posted this, but I know that his wifes name was Mary A. Chaney, and I am a descendent from their son Joseph L Bennefield. Do you know if this is the same perso? Seaborn was from GA and was born around 1846

Hi I,m Leonard Allan Bennefields,and Rita May Grants oldest daughter Connie Bennefield......I,m researching my family roots.........I,d forgotten about that piece of info. I believe it was Benfeld,because there is an actual village/town in Germany with that name .........My old original physician GP, supposedly had stayed there during the war I,m assuming the second World War.

My husband's grandfather was Riley Bennefield. We are still learning about the family. Riley died when my father-in-law was only a few months old; so they never knew him. Good evening,

I am looking for any information on "Mina Sibrasse" who came to the US in 1862 along with a 2year old named "Gottlieb". She also came over with Hann Fiderike Sibrasse. Mina married John Kleinberg in St Louis 26Jan 1863, they had 6 children and she died 07 Nov 1910. They lived and raised their children in St. Louis the whole time; living at 602 Morin Ave.

Anything that you have will be appreciated, if you do or do not have information on Mina, please let me know.

My connection is grandaughter of Dock Benefield who was son of James K. Bennefield and Alsey Kimbrell. I think one of the children in the photo might be Dock and of course, James K. would be a gggrandfather to me.

Descendants of William Bennefield include Tensey Matilda Mary Bennefield b 1834 M 21 Dec 1853 to Thomas Gaston Layton. While doing research for my own line (James K. Benefield/Alsey Kimbell and their son Dock Bennefield who married my great grandmother Mary Matilda Adeline Bedingfield. I am a descendant of Dock and Mary.

I have found on the websites a discrepency about whose children belonged to whom. There are duplicates under different mothers, fathers, etc. Would appreciate help in getting it all straightened out.

At this time I do not have any descendants for you from Tensey. If I find anything I'll let you know.

Your 3rd. great-grandmother Alsey (Kimbrell) Bennefield is my brother-in-laws 4th great-grandaunt. As such, I'm researching the family genealogy for him and his wife (my sister).

I already have the children of William Henry Bailey and Molley (Smith) Bennefield, including nearly all the birth dates. However, I would like to get the information on all their descendants.

Although my research isn't finish, it now contains over 1,300 people, and every one of them is directly related to you. If you want, I would be pleased to send you a family descendant report with all of them in exchange for the information on all the descendants of William Henry Bailey and Molley (Smith) Bennefield.

Also, many within the family would greatly appreciate if you would provide some family photographs.

The second file attached to another email includes the same information but it starts from your ggg... great-grandparents Buckner Mansfield Kimbrell and Nancy (Jackson) Kimbrell.

hello my name is barbara oriole and the information that i have on richard benefiel and elizabeth dewitt goes as follows that the one son that i know of was named peter v. benefiel married a woman named sarah. they had a child named alma estelle benefiel married john e phares. they had three girls named grace, fern, and rose belle. rose married asbury price. together they had bobby gene price who married ruth oxendine and together they had three children one of which was me.

I am trying to locate information on Richard Stewart Bennefield's parents. Richard was married to Elizabeth DeWitt in 1832 in Indiana. I have it that they had 3 children :
