My ancestor, Thomas Bennett (b. ca 1811 - d. 1852 on the Oregon Trail), told the 1850 census taker in Grandview, Louisa County, Iowa, that he was born about 1811 in England. I found a land deed purchased by him in 1846 (where he is listed as "Thomas Bennett of Montgomery County, Ohio" but I find no record of a Thomas Bennett in that county ever) and his marriage certificate in 1848 (where only his name is given) - both in Iowa. I can't find him before that. I've done a DNA test in hopes I'll get lucky and find a descendant of a Bennett relative of Thomas in England. My question to you is, "Does my ancestor, Thomas Bennett, fit into your family?"
Hoping for a miracle,
