The Betsy Bennett in the 1850 Groton,VT census was Cutting Bennett's mother. Timothy was his father. Timothy Bennett was your 3G grandfather and was also my 3G grandfather. Timothy was the son of Tilton Bennet (b. 1750 in Hampton Falls,NH) and Rachel Favor (b. about 1750 in NH).

Tilton Bennett and family moved to Groton,VT from New Chester,NH around 1805. Tilton died around 1808. The 1810 census for Groton includes the widow Rachel Bennet, with two males age 16-25 (likely sons Cutting and Peter). Timothy is enumerated as a separate household, He had married Betsy and their first child, Ruth, had been born in September 1809.

All of the Bennetts moved to Gilead, Maine around 1813, but returned to Groton before 1830.

Unfortunately, we have yet to identify Betsy's maiden name. There is no marriage record to be found in Groton or the surrounding towns.
