Hello Lucy
A James Young who was born in 1852 married Anne Vickers who was born in 1854. I have a strong reason to believe that she was related to Robert Vickers Bennie, my great grandfather. This is based on the fact that a reference concerning Anne was found in my second cousin Harold Nicholls' papers at the time of his death some years ago. James was an ironstone miner, but was also at some time a piper in the Black Watch (I believe he served in India) They had a son, born 1890, named Robert Bennie Young. Given that both Young and Vickers are (according to my aunt Winifred) family names, it may well be that there is a connection here. I'm afraid that, since we last corresponded I have been unable to glean anything other than this perhaps paltry item of information! Have you managed to make any progress in regard to our ancestry?
Kind regards - James Bennie
