Hi there family! :)
Yes, Josephine would have been my great aunt. Lula is my great grandmother, and her only child was Walter Frank Ingram (Frank or Frankie) my beloved granddad. Almeda (went by Alta) Almeda Catherine Benoit DOB-4-1-1868, died 4-17-1946. She is buried in Kern County, California, Bakersfield. I have a family tree set-up in Ancestry.com. If you have one, you should have a green leaf pop up-and my tree (Smith family tree) will list everyone back to Catherine Chinook. The bad news is, I have contacted the Chinook nation, and the record they have does not show Catherine Chinook, but a Christena, and they cannot see Mary Anne Sanders-spouse of John Alexander Sanders. They see a Jean Pierre Sanders, married to Cana-Wash Lisette with children of Frank, John, and Christena. That was a deep disappointment, but I will research further to determine where Catherine Chinook fits in. The Chinook nation stated that it is not unusual for children to be left out of "list." If you do not have an ancestry.com account, please let me know, I will be happy to copy my tree and send it to you. If there are pictures you would like to have copies of, (I believe I have one picture of Lula, Josephine, and their other sister (I can't recall her name off the top of my head). Also, type in Catherine Chinook on the Internet, and a Mormon record will pop-up regarding her. She was supposedly born at Fort Vancouver, WA. Just FYI, my cousin also informed me that our ancestors were a part of the vote for Oregon's statehood. When I find out more about that, I will let you know :) Please feel free to ask my any questions and I will do my best to help. Hope you have a wonderful New Year!
