Edward Benson b: abt 1860 Illinois in 1880 he is in Iowa

On the 1880 Benton Co IA census in the house hold of Henry Benson and Frances (last name unknown) it lists the first son as Edward, born abt 1860 in Illinois. Frances is only 34 years old, that makes her only about 14 or 15 when she had Edward.
Edward is not in his fathers household on the 1870 Benton Co IA census.
Any idea where he is in 1870 ?? Can't find him either on the 1900 census.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

need help - children of Thomas Benson,B.1775 Randolph,NC

My ultimate goal here is to find the father of Cyrus Benson (1809 in TN to 1859 in MS). In the Autobiography (An Autobiography of a West Texas Pioneer) of Cyrus Benson's granddaughter, Ella Elgar Bird Dumont, She states that her "Uncle" Jack Benson was her mothers (Elizabeth Benson Elgar) 2nd cousin. She confirms Jacks idenity by saying he was married to her fathers sister (Mary Elgar).
Based on what I know of Kinship, this would mean, most likely, that Cyrus's father was Thomas Benson. Naturally, I find no mention of this. Anyone have any ideas on how to prove this, or information to refute it?

MUSCATINE, Iowa - Mary A. Benson, 87, of Muscatine, formerly of Rock Island, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.

Funeral Service will be at the Moscow Cemetery. Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton will be handling the arrangements.

There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Homes of Muscatine.

Ms. Benson was born July 26, 1920, to Henry and Mabel Wilhelm Camp in Moscow.

She worked at Servus Rubber Co. in Rock Island, the Greyhound Bus Depot in Rock Island and H. A. Electric in Moline. In later years, she volunteered at the Rock Island Township meal site.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hazel Soteros and Elda Proctor; and two brothers, Edwin and Leland Camp.

Services are at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. The Rev. William Walker will officiate. Music selections will be presented by Jim and Josephine Martin and Roger and Lori Adams. Pallbearers are Mike Adams, Ricky Adams, Roger Adams, Arnie Adams, Danny Adams, Myron Adams, Gary Riley and Wayne French. Honorary pallbearers are Vickie French, Sandra Adams, Teresa M. Riley, Lori Adams, Elaine Adams, Linda Adams, Sharon and Jack Lemaster and Susan Adams. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Benson was born on July 22, 1904, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Lon and Frances Webber Morgan. She married Frank Adams in 1923 and later married Paul A. Benson in Rock Island, Ill.

She worked at the H.J. Heinz Co., the Rock Island Arsenal during war-time and International Farm-All. She also cooked and served for the Wise Men, Toastmasters and the Bar Association's dinners.

She was a previous member and was active in the Rebecca Lodge. As a five-generation grandmother, she loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Everett W. Adams and his wife, Maxine, of Muscatine; a sister, Lucy Havel of Muscatine; nine grandchildren, Michael L. Adams, Vickie L. French and her husband, Wayne, Ricky E. Adams and his wife, Sandra, Teresa M. Riley and her husband, Gary, Roger R. Adams and his wife, Lori, Arnie Adams and his wife, Elaine, Danny Adams and his wife, Linda, Sharon Lemaster and her husband, Jack, and Myron Adams and his wife, Susan; three step grandchildren, Gary Goddard, Dennis Goddard and David Goddard; 19 great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Roy Edward Adams; a great-grandchild, Lonna Marie Adams; five brothers; and four sisters.

The mystery is solved - George & James G. are cousins; John G. is a nephew to both. The latter's son, James T. apprenticed as blacksmith to James G. - see 1900 Fed. Census. At least two Hodges were blacksmiths - William and John A. as well as an Akeley in earlier generations.

Mother of CATHERINE LAURA BENSON

I am trying to get any information that I can find on the mother of Catherine Laura Benson, b:24Feb1911, d:5Feb2001, born to Emanuel Benson.

Catherine's mother was supposed to have been born in Virginia to a woman with the surname of Ball (this could be inaccurate). This woman was supposed to have had several children by different father's.

Catherine's mother was relocated and raised by a family in the Lancaster, PA area. She later married Emanuel Benson and had a daughter, Catherine. She died shortly after Catherine's birth.

Emanuel Benson remarried a woman named Tennie, and Catherine was put in a boarding school. The 1920 U.S. Federal Census records for the boarding school have Catherine Benson listed with birthplace of mother as Maryland instead of Virginia. I think that this information may be inaccurate.

Any information that you have would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this so if there's any pertinent information that I may have excluded, please don't hesitate to let me know.

William Benson Jr. made a will l774, it was probated l775. In it he listed children: John, Robert & Spencer and 3 young children, his wife(not named) as EX. Would like to know anything abt. his children or his wife. Need birthdates on any of his family. I have birthdate of Spencer l2/4/l755.
Someone listed a George Benson with this family but his name was not on the will.Who was the parents of William Benson Jr. Where was he buried?Was he a militrary man? His son Spencer was in the Rev. war? Were either ot the other sons in that war?

Job Benson moved to Easton, NY, in 1777, from which he and his sons and sons-in-law fought in the Battle of Saratoga. My 2003 book, The Benson Family of Colonial Massachusetts lists his seven children, one of which is likely to be your ancestor. I have not carried their lines further. There is likely more information on them in The Benson Family, published in 1972 by Grace Croft, but I am out of the country and do not have my copy with me. Thank you for responding to my inquiry all these years later. I really appreciate it. I would love to see the picture of the family that you have. I do not know much about the family as my research has been lacking the last few years due to work obligations overseas.

I was able to find some information on a few of the children, and I believe that Hardy's parents names were William and Jane. Aside from that I haven't found out much.

I am looking for any information on a Charles E. (Etheldreth?) Benson born around 1841, probably in Tn. I know very little about him and his family, and am looking to locate his parents. I believe his family was Jewish, and I'm pretty sure he ended up in Arkansas...I know his daughter and wife, Ellen Young, ended up in Arkansas at very least.

I guess I would be family. I am Ingrid's grand daughter, Melissa. I noticed that in your list, you are missing Sonia and Signe! Signe recently passed and it was very sad. Nelsena lives in Long Beach, CA. I see her occasionally as I live near her. Sonia lives near Minneapolis, MN. Ingrid lives in Atwater, MN. Seri and Nels Benson lived in Atwater, MN. They have a colorful history. Nelsena would be the best to answer any questions as she was born in Sweden and immigrated here with her parents. Who was your gradmother?

I am looking for any information about Isaac Benson b. 1792 (Easton TWP Washington county NY) and Joseph Benson b. 1823 (Washington County NY)

Joseph and Mary Ann Benson are my great-great-great grand-parents.

I have found Joseph's birth record and siblings (John b. 1819 and William b. 1831) and his father is listed as Isaac Benson (no date of birth), mother unknown.

Any information about Isaac or Joseph would be greatly appreciated.

My great-grandfather is Isaac Benson, Hardy's brother.
I have a picture of Hardy and Nancy and a few of the kids.

James is listed as a blacksmith. Also John G. is on the same census page as a blacksmith. Also on the same page is MV Benson - single lawyer.

What are the relationships here? Any info. is much appreciated.

Have found family in SWEDEN!!! His Swedish name was Bengt August Bengtsson born in Falkenberg Sweden in 1841.

Parents were Bengt Borjesson 1795-1854 and Inger Lena Larsdotter 1802-1862. He was one of 6 children. I am in contact with his brother's line Lars Johan but would love to find more family with his other brothers and sisters. I am not sure, but at this generation all are still in sweden as much as I can tell.

In my tree I have Bjorn Halvorson married to Gro Johnsdatter, son Halvor. Halvor marrried Barbara Halvorson , they had a daughter Grace, Grace marred Thor and they came to America. So, did Bjorn and Gro have Halvor and George?? Do you have more information on Bjorn and Gro. Thank you in advance.....
