My g-g-grandfather Alphonso Bent went from Massachusetts to Smith Falls, now Ontario (where my g-grandfather George Russell Bent was born) to Chicago, to the new town of Morrison, Illinois in 1856. George Russell Bent lived and married in Fulton, Ill. My grandfather Horace Edward Bent was born at Clinton, Iowa in 1864. My grandfather's brothers were born at Sterling and Fulton. So you see with a couple generations born down there, the Bents were all over the place. I remember Mannington Bent used to come up from Morrison to Evanston to family events, especially funerals. His father was a brother of George Russell Bent. Give me something to tie to and I might be able to give you your whole line.
The Colorado/New Mexico Bents are really not too closely related. But I can look that up to and show you how close they are.
