My mother-in-law shared some new information with me regarding the Bentz family from Fairfield OH. Jacob Bentz, b. Oct 2, 1787, d. Nov 1, 1855, m. Margaret Hornbaker, b. Mar 4, 1804, d. Feb 18, 1895. Jacob and Margaret are the parents of Samuel Joseph Bentz, and his sister, Sarah Ann Bentz. Samuel Joseph Bentz married Sarah Amanda Miller, Sarah Ann Bentz married a Miller, and they had a son named Albert Perry Miller. Sarah Ann Bentz Miller and her son, Albert, left Shelby County, IL, to homestead in or near Dighton, KS. Jacob Bentz and his wife, Margaret Hornbaker Bentz, are buried in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery, Berne Township, Fairfield Co., OH, along with the following Bentz's: Mary Bentz, b. Dec 18, 1814, d. Aug 18, 1848, daughter of J. & E Bentz, and Malinda Bentz, b. Jan 13, 1841, d. Jan 17, 1852, daughter of J. & Margaret Bentz.
