Yes! They lived in Cherry Hill! Mary, Teresa, and Martin. All siblings. They were Dru's and my Aunts and Uncles. You should know that Dru is not a nice person. Very sick...mentally ill, as were/are most of the Nolans, including me. But, those are definitely my Aunts and Uncles. They're all dead now. They died in the late 70's. Martin was gay and Mary and Teresa were fat as houses. They didn't like Dru, but they never told her. They called her the "white trash" niece. Pretty fitting description...

It is a photo copy of the original and not very good but there are photos that might be of interest. My email is TB3of7@AOL.com.
Your grandfather Gerald Thomas Wombacker must be a brother to William Wombacker. Their parents would be Josephine mary Bergan and Andrew W. Wombacker. Josephine's brother was Gerald Thomas who became the Archibishop of Omaha. The other children of that family were Thomas, Robert and patrick. Josephine's parents were William Martin Bergan and Mary Elizabeth O'Connell. William was a brother to my grandfather John. Their parents were Nicholas Bergan and Ann Drew.

There is much more information for you.You will meet other cousins on this board too. I will be away for a few weeks. Hope this helps you. Marilyn

Re: Relations with Gerald Thomas Bergan?

Actually, I'm the daughter of Gerald Thomas Wombacher Jr. who is the son of Gerald Thomas Wombacher Sr., who's uncle, I believe, was Gerald Thomas Bergan if I am getting everything straight. That would make him my great great uncle. I'll have to ask my father about this, but I am pretty sure that's how we're related. I'll have to ask later.

You must be the son of William Wombacher who was the son of Josephine Mary Bergan and Andrew W. Wombacher . Josephine was the daughter of William Martin Bergan and Mary Elizabeth O'Connell. Gerald is also their son.

My Grandfather was John Bergan who was the brother of William Martin Bergan.

I will be away for a few weeks but e-mail me and I will send you what I have. I know your name because my brother Jack Bergan was in contact with your father at one time.

My husband is descended from Peter Bergan b. 1870 in Halingdahl, Norway. His wife was Marie Costello. This Peter had a son, Hillman, who lived in Rugby, ND. Because my husband's father died when he was very young and his mother was estranged from the Bergans and moved a distance, we haven't a clue about other family. Could this be the same man with more than one spouse?

Our Peter Bergan was born in Hallingdahl, Norway, in 1870. He died in 1963 in Chester, Montana which is on the Montana/ND border way up north. My husband's grandfather, Peter's son, lived in Rugby, ND when retired. He worked for the railroad and I think they might have lived here and there across northern ND but I'm not sure. I don't know if you've been there but my husband and I were just in Decorah, IA and there are a lot of Bergan names there. A man named Ken Bergan has a family history filed in the genealogical library. He told us that because the Norwegians took their last name from the farm they lived on it could change and so when they came to this country a lot of them were confused as to what to call themselves and so would just take a name. He told me a joke about a man who introduces a friend to his four brothers and they all have different last names. It sure makes it confusing and difficult.

Hi have a photo taken in Earlville, NY with my grandfather (M. Jenne) and a man who - by the label on the photo seems to be named Georg Bergan. The writing is hard to read but Bergan is a better than fair guess as to what was written. I'd guess that this man was born about 1890 by his age and the age of the photo and my grandfather. The man Georg Bergan - is also shown with a Babe Young.

Does any have a clue as to who this person is ? I'd be happy to share the photo if you like. THANKS Mark
See attachment for the name as written on the photo.
