My great grandfather was William. His daughter Jo was my grandmother (sister of the archbishop.) My father, Gerald, is alive. There are a whole bunch of Bergans buried in St. Mary's cemetary in Peoria.

I have a Margaret Casey married to Martin Bergan. The last I have for her is that she was living with her son, Martin in the Bronx in 1900.

Children Eulah Dorothy Loveland, and Everett Loveland.

Hi. i'm very new to this haha, so excuse me if im a bit of an amateur :D well i'm really interested in all of this. i live in England, and there are many Bergans in Northern Parts of England specifically yorkshire. i just thought it might interesting for anyone to know, if they have history over here or something. i'd love it if someone was to get back to me on this.

I'm looking for information on the parents & siblings of Kieran Bergan, born in Ireland Nov. 1850-51 and died in Auburn, Cayuga Co., NY Sept. 24, 1916. Son of Timothy Bergan and Catherine Whalen. Timothy may have been living in Graiguegarron, Co. Laois in 1889 and might be a son of William Bergan and Mary Anne Barber. William and Mary Anne may have had 20 children - have names of 13. Have information on Kieran's descendants and some of the descendants of William and Mary Anne and am willing to share.

Mr. James H. Bergan and Miss Anna Cadden, both of this place (Dushore, PA) were married this Wednesday morning at St. Basil's church, Dushore by Rev. Fr. Walsh.
Mr. Bergan is well known throughout this section, as an industrious young man. Miss Cadden is an excellent young lady greatly esteemed by a large circle of friends.
Their many friends including the Gazette wish them much prosperity and happiness.

March 29, 1944
James H. Bergan died at his home in Wilkes-Barre, Wednesday morning, March 29 following an illness of some time.
Mr. Bergan was born on a farm in Cherry township, Sullivan Co., PA in 1854, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Bergan, who were among the early settlers of Cherry township.
In 1881, (it should be 1887) he was united in marriage with Miss Anna Cadden, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cadden who came to Cherry township, Sullivan Co.in 1880 and settled on an adjoining farm.
Mrs. Bergan passed away a few years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Bergan left the farm about 30 years ago and moved to Wilkes-Barre, PA where they have since made their home.
Mr. Bergan is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Anna Henniger, and four sons, John C., Edward C., Harry and Ambrose Bergan.
Funeral services will be held from his late home, Saturday morning with mass at St. Aloysius church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in the family plot in St. Basil's cemetery at this place.
James H. Bergan is listed on the 1920 census as 'BERGEN'.

The Boyle name is unfamiliar - I do have Doyle as a baptism sponsor for some Bergin family members in Mountrath Ireland. Also, the Devenney name is unfamiliar.

Looking for information on William Bergan b 1875, CT, who married Margaret Bowe b 1878, NY. They had ten children and were living in Brooklyn, NY according to the 1930 Census. Margaret was widowed before the 1920 Census. Margaret's sister Mary Bowe Malone was my husband's grandmother.
I would be happy to share any information I have.

All I know about Katherine is that she was born November 11, 1867 - Died August 29, 1915 and is buried on September 2, 1915 in Old Catherdral Cemetary in Philadelphia. There are 5 people by the name of Boyle's buried in this plot from 1888 thru 1893 - Then Katherine in 1915 and the last person buried in this plot is a Mary Devenney age 61 on May 9, 1933
Are these name familiar to you.

All my Dad ever said was his Mother was raised in aconvent and died when he was 10.

Katherine married Thomas Brown about 1886/87 (according to the June 1990 census they stated they were married 13 years.)

Katherine and Thomas had 10 children and raised 6 to maturity.

I have not had any success in finding Marriage place and date or birth place.

No date of birth - Understand Margaret died when her daughter Katherine was young. Katherine raised in a convent.

Yes! They lived in Cherry Hill! Mary, Teresa, and Martin. All siblings. They were Dru's and my Aunts and Uncles. You should know that Dru is not a nice person. Very sick...mentally ill, as were/are most of the Nolans, including me. But, those are definitely my Aunts and Uncles. They're all dead now. They died in the late 70's. Martin was gay and Mary and Teresa were fat as houses. They didn't like Dru, but they never told her. They called her the "white trash" niece. Pretty fitting description...

It was in the archive at Notre Dame & a copy was sent to me when I started researching. It is a photo copy of the original and not very good but there are photos that might be of interest. Your grandfather Gerald Thomas Wombacker must be a brother to William Wombacker. Their parents would be Josephine mary Bergan and Andrew W. Wombacker. Josephine's brother was Gerald Thomas who became the Archibishop of Omaha.The other children of that family were Thomas, Robert and patrick. Josephine's parents were William Martin Bergan and Mary Elizabeth O'Connell. William was a brother to my grandfather John. Their parents were Nicholas Bergan and Ann Drew.

Actually, I'm the daughter of Gerald Thomas Wombacher Jr. who is the son of Gerald Thomas Wombacher Sr., who's uncle, I believe, was Gerald Thomas Bergan if I am getting everything straight. That would make him my great great uncle. I'll have to ask my father about this, but I am pretty sure that's how we're related. I'll have to ask later.

You must be the son of William Wombacher who was the son of Josephine Mary Bergan and Andrew W. Wombacher . Josephine was the daughter of William Martin Bergan and Mary Elizabeth O'Connell. Gerald is also their son.

My Grandfather was John Bergan who was the brother of William Martin Bergan.

I will be away for a few weeks but e-mail me and I will send you what I have. I know your name because my brother Jack Bergan was in contact with your father at one time.

I am looking for a Michael Bergan whom would have been born about 1946-1947 and would have been enlisted in the Navy at Alemeda Airstation.Hes family was also said to have lived in the area.

My husbands real father was Ingwald Bergan & was from North Dakota. If you or anyone has any information about the Bergans I would appreciate any help I can get. I do know he never married & died in Renton, Wa. about 1980. He had a brother named Orville Bergan who also died some time ago in North Dakota. I am looking for any offspring form that area--can anyone help???
