J. Romeo Bergeron Sr., 82, of West Hollis St., Nashua passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Southern NH Medical Center.
Romeo was born in Nashua on Nov. 5, 1926, a son of the late Oscar and Phyllis (Chantal) Bergeron. He was the husband of Delia (Murray) Bergeron of Nashua.
Romeo was a lifelong resident of Nashua and was educated in local schools. He was the owner and operator of Bergeron's Arco, later known as Bergeron's Citgo Station. Romeo was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII.
In addition to his wife, Romeo is survived by four daughters, Mary deSteuben and her husband Thomas of Merrimack, Phyllis Erwin and her husband Stephen of Godfrey, IL, Betty Bilodeau and her husband Wayne of Nashua, and Patricia Goodspeed and her husband Robert of Columbia, SC; four sons, Richard Bergeron of Petersburg, WV, Joseph Bergeron Jr. and his wife Kathy of Hollis, Maj. John Bergeron, USMC, and his wife Lisa of Germany, and Robert Bergeron and his wife Janet of Nashua; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the ANCTIL-ROCHETTE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 21 KINSLEY ST., NASHUA. Services and burial will take place at a later date. To view an online memorial, send a condolence or for more information, go to www.anctil-rochette.com.
