While I generally agree with your post, I have some additional and some different information. Severin arrived in New York in the spring of 1857. He arrived with his 17 YO sister, Franziska, and 15 YO brother, Wilhelm. Michael didn't arrive until 1860. Franziska came to St. Louis before 1860 and married George Christman. Wilhelm was killed at the battle of Cedar Creek in October 1864.
Magdalena Jacobs (I don't know where the Helen came from} was born in Bad Duerkheim in 1840. She came to the US at age 20 with her grandmother. She married Severin in 1863 in Illion, Herkermer Co, NY. They moved to St. Louis Co by August 1865.
I have a lot more information on my web-site www.seilerfamily.org

My mother's grandfather was Engbertus Benetus Bergner who was married to Ida May Eisenhour. Their daughter, my grandmother, was Anna Della Bergner Chaffin. I have been reading alot of your posts about the Bergner family and have seen many similarities. If you have any more information or family trees you could share that would be great.

Just found this today and am the great-granddaughter of a Paul Felix Bergner who was in Kaiser Wilhelm I's palace guard in the 1870'or 80's ...whenever Wilhelm I was emperor. He was born in Bad Berka, Thueringen, Germany and came to the US in the 1880's. He was a tailor who owned a shop in Sheboygan WI.
I have his photo in an army uniform...from his time in Potsdam at San Souci. But I don't know his rank if he had one.
Chrismahnkeswanson

Looking for information on Amanda Bergner, born 1875 in Missouri.
I have info in 1880 (age 5) she was living with an Eliza Klinge in Hermann, Gasconade, Missouri. I believe her grandparents? are living next door Gottlob and Christine Bergner.
First, I am trying to find out why she is not with her parents and who they are.

As an adult Amanda married William Weaver their children, Roland, Francis, Violet (my great grandmother) and Irene. William died in 1912. She later married Robert Grew. Robert died in 1921.

Second, trying to find out if she remarried again and when and where she died.

Between the 2 of them they had a very large family which has extended unbelieveable. Carl is one of many family names. I have been working on it off and on since 1991. If you could give me a little more info, maybe I can be of help.

George Bergner in PA

I am still trying to find a history on my g-g-grandfather, George Bergner, b 1818 in Neunkirchen, Germany and came to PA in 1830. I have looked through passenger lists, etc., but no luck. He became a very successful businessman owning several newspapers and businesses, and Pres. Lincoln appointed him postmaster general for Harrisburg. He and 1st wife Catherine Uhler had: Charles H., Frederick U., and Lilly; 2nd wife Elizabeth Uhler (sisters) had Catherine--my line. Any help at all desperately appreciated.

My husband's grandmother was Elvia Bergner, daughter of Leslie and Bessie Bergner. Also, her brother Carl Bergner married my father-in-law's sister, Beulah Gargus. I have a small amount of info at the moment, because I haven't concentrated a lot on my husband's family. They are all in Missouri. Elvia was born in Berryman, Mo.
My husband also works with one of his Bergner cousins.
If this looks promising, let me know and I will get what I have together for you and ask relatives for more info.
Lori

George Bergner b c1840? in PA

My Great-great-grandfather was George Bergner who married what looks like sisters Catherine (d 1865) and Elizabeth Uhler, the mother of my great-grandmother Catherine Bergner. There was (is) a Bergner Hotel named for their family in Harrisburg, PA at which my parents spent the first night of their honeymoon in 1954. This George is the farthest I can get in tracing the Bergner past. Anyone recognize these names?

I have info tracing the Uhler clan back to 1719 in Germany, but don't know when the Bergners crossed the big pond.

My grandfather was Thomas August Bergner, married to Elsie Clara Seiler. They lived in the Manchester-Des Peres area of St. Louis County, Mo all their lives. They had four children, two boys and two girls. My mother Dorothy is one of their daughters. I have been trying to research her family history for her with little luck, especially on her father's side. We don't even have the names of his parents. If you are part of our family or have any information at all, I'd love to hear from you.

I have a hand full of old pictures of supposed past relatives. Photograph studios in Germany are in Gera, Veile, and Torgau. Photo studios in US are from Peoria IL, Chillicothe IL, Logan OH, and Athens OH. All photographs appear to be late 1800's to early 1900's. I will be traveling to Germany soon, and would like to try to locate some of these ancestors. Any suggestions? I can be contacted at keithbergner@hotmail.com. Thanks.
