My great-great grandfather - John BERGGREN - was born in Sweden (birth date unknown) and died January 23, 1887 in Rock Island County, Illinois. He married Caroline JOHNSON January 23, 1870 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born August 05, 1848 in Sweden, and died February 13, 1940 in East Moline, Illinois. John and Caroline came from Sweden first to Boston, then to Chicago, then to Moline after the Chicago Fire.
How would I begin to find where in Sweden both of these ancestors were born?
Also, there are several other Berggren/Bergren families here in Illinois - several of whom lived with or near my ancestors - so I'm sure they are related in some way - just haven't figured out how!
Any information from others who share my maiden name would be appreciated!
