Adolph and Max BERK

A lady has contacted me looking for any descendants of Adolph and Max Berk of Logan County Oklahoma. She has found a photograph of Adolph and Max from sometime in the First World War in their uniforms. She would like to return this photo to a member of the family if possible. William Berk of PA blank fraktur art

Does anyone know of a William Berk who lived in Pennsylvania and may have colored fraktur art? (old PA German art form - often baptismal, birth and death certificates) I am doing some research on one that at the bottom, says "filled out by Wm. Berk" and then gives a location, but I can't make it out. Looks like, "R__ld" PA. There's no personal data on it; this is one that was colored, but not used by filling in with data. Was there a William Berk who did this work often?

My Aunt Anna May lived in Stratford NJ she was my mothers older sister everyone else stayed in philadelphia pa My Grandfather George Berk and Grandmother Emma Troester Berk did have 10 children but 2 died at early age one was a twin to my Aunt Bert the other was Maria
I didn't know my Grandfather for he died when my Mother was 5 and my Grandmother died when I was 5 but I remember her well she died in 1961 from cervical cancer and I went to her funeral and kissed her goodbye they did live on Orianna st and my grandfather owned a bakery and retired at a very early age shortly after he had a massive heart attack there is only one left my Mothers brother Uncle Heinz but I heard he had a stroke recently there is also two sister in laws left one was married to my Uncle George she is Aunt Anna the other was married to my Uncle Louie she is Aunt Joan I didn't even know my Grandfather had any siblings

Hi..my name is Elaine. George and Emma were my aunt and uncle...though I don't remember them. They lived on Orianna St. George was my father's (Raymond Wm. Berk) brother Exaclty how many children did they have? I thought about ten. Did Louise live in NJ? I may be confused. I'm going from memory and not from written text.

In researching my family line (not Berk), I came across information from St. Boniface Church in the Kensington area of Philadelphia, PA indicating that George Dan Berk was married to Emma Troester. Date of birth was probably after 1900 since the record was for the baptism of their son in 1930. Hope this information is helpful to the Berk researchers.

Hello my name is Elisa Tracy. My mother was Louise Berk The daughter of George Berk who is one of the siblings you refer to George married Elise Emma and they had 10 children my Mom being the youngest, All have passed except henry who is 82 now

Hello my Mother was a Berk her father was George, He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Ed, Dan, Raymond ,Ralph,Gert and Annamae, They actually lived in Germantown area. George Berk married Elise Emma Troester and they had 10 children I just started trying to search my family back germany. most of my aunts and uncle are gone now I have my mothers brother Henry and 2 aunts that were married to george and lou If you have any information i would love to talk I just figured out that my grandfather was born in 1893 or 94, I also learned today from my aunt Anna that my grandfather and his siblings all played music instruments

George and Emma Berk had 10 kids Maria and Ralph who died when they were young the other names are
George Jr, Anna Mae
Heinz,Alberto,Dorothy,Gertrude,Louis and Louise who was our Mother the only one still alive is Uncle Heinz and he just had a stroke he is 82 the other two that are alive are sister in laws George Jr's wife Anna and Louie wife Joan they belonged to St Bonifaces church my Grandfather owned a Bakery for which he retired from and shortly after that died from massive stroke my Aunt Anna knows alot about the Berks for they all worked at Stetson's hat company together they are from germany and there last name was Von Berg

Emigrated Berk from Heddersdorf, Hesse, Germany

I found the following data in the emigration-records of the small town of Heddersdorf, Hesse, Germany. Maybe it's of any help to somebody. I'm afaik not related to these people so pls don't ask me about details, I'm just forwarding the information.

Conrad Johannes Berk, born 24.07.1851 in Heddersdorf, em. in 1867 to either the USA or Canada. Conrad Johannes Berk is the successor of Nicolaus Berk and Conrad Johannes had to get the O.K. from his custodian for the emigration. He had a sister (name unknown) who already lived in either the USA or Canada.

I don't know if the next person is related to Conrad Johannes altough I think so but don't know how so I'll have her in this same posting as it might help somebody familiar with this family to see the connection.

Martha Elisabeth Berk, em. 1870 to either the USA or Canada. She is the daughter of the wife of Johannes Klippert of Oberaula who had Martha Elisabeth in her first marriage.

Heinrich and Anna Margaretha (nee Schacht or Schecht). Emigrated in 1868 to America. No further information to birth-dates or places nor children found.

This information is from the emmigration-records of the small town of Goßmannsrode, Hesse, Germany. I am, as far as I know, not related to any of these people but I hope this information may help present and future researchers.

Mary Berk Hoff of Ohio and Indiana

I'm looking for relatives of Mary Berk, born in Germany about 1832, married to George Hoff, probably in Ohio, where their son William was born. They moved to LaGrange County, IN, about 1856, where John B., Mary, and Edward were born. Any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't look like the same family. My George was born in Maryland about 1827.

Rev. John Berk in Nebraska/Katherine Barbara Plattner

I am Kari Plattner-Simpkins and this is going to seem a little strange. I have been working on tracing my Plattner families, some at one time lived in Hastings Nebraska. My father found an old letter from a John Berk who was the above's grandson. In the letter (which was written to my great Aunt Bess Williams) (Sarah Bessie Plattner), he's asking for some assistance in tracing his grandmother, who was Katherine Barbara Plattner (Katherine could of been spelled with a C) It seems Rev. Berk was married the first time to Katherine Plattner. It mentions that Rev. Berk was the first preacher of the Hickman Presbyterian Church. The letter is a little confusing, but if this sounds at all familiar to anyone, I'd love to hear more. I believe John Berk has passed, as he was about 82 years old when he wrote the letter. The letter is dated 10-3-1978. And I also have another letter from him dated 12-18-1978 to my Aunt Bess. He mentions that with the help of a college in Dubuque Iowa, he found a write up about his grandmother Katherine Barbara Plattner Berk. He was curious to find where she was buried and I would love to know if he ever found her, because she could of been related to my Plattners, possibly my great great grandfather's Nicolaus sister. Any information is welcome.
