I am interest in a couple of trees that I've seen on www.ancestry.com: one of them being the Rover/Gochie/Appleby and all the rest and the second one was the Lodz/Alveraz tree. Wanted to know how they are related to Louis Goodman Berman. Louis Goodman Berman is my great grand father. Louis married Ethel Fanny (Frances (is)) (Bernstein) Berman.

Chana moved to Port Arthur, Ontario, later to Windsor, with husband Louis and several daughters, Clara, Julia, Rebecca, Lillian, Aliza, and one son, Isaac. Most later moved to Detroit. Chaya moved to Brooklyn with husband Hyman Yudis, who died in an accident at Beth Israel of Brownsville in 1917.

Sarah was born in 1909 in either Boston Ma or New York, lived in Massachusettes, had 1 son born 3/1/1939 in Boston (Sarney William Grechka - at birth). I am looking for any relatives that have any family history to share.

I thought my mother grew up in Haverhill, but she was Lena Berman. She died when I was a child, and I have only one picture of her. Perhaps DHS was the name of a school in Haverhill?

I am a Grandson of Jacob Berman My Mother was Lena
She died when I was a child and my Dad remarried (Maurice)
However I did contact the family in the late 50's and got to know some of my Uncles and Aunts, but moved away in the early 60's and lost track.

One of my cousin's Larry Berman, married Sara Mae Sidore from Manchester, NH with whom I went to high school.

Been talk with Cassandra Kay Vengarick that is daughter of Robert Murray Vengarick is Belle Cooperman my grand mom brother.
She is helping a lot on the Vengarick side. Her brother Van (Phillip Murray Vengarick) is going to do a DNA test for me. Very Cool! Did you know that we are Russian? I have the test back and now I know for sure we are!
I just found Alice Vengarick she is a 2nd cousin 2x remove from us.

I'm not sure that we are related. However, I am not sure if the husband of my 2nd cousin Rebecca G Berman Cooper's husband Ronald L Cooper might be a relative of yours. I know that my grandfather Isaac Berman was born in Manchester, England. However, his parents are from Russia. I have been in contact from time to time with a Laurence Huber in Florida regarding his Berman side. His parents are from Russia and might be related to you. I believe that one of his relative's was a Rose Berman Walters. Not sure if their would be a connection their.

When was Morris Born. That Mendelson ancestor of mine immigrated to a cousin named Morris Berman Living on Canal street in New York about 1905-1907. this ancestor of mine was born in 1885, so was your grandfather born about that time and was he from Mogilev or Shklov-Belarus, Russia. This ancestor of mine has parents named Morduhk & Biela-Ryvka(Katz)Mendelson. Does your Morris descend from a Mendelson Or a Katz. If, not then it most likely another person.

For now I don't think there is a connection... but I have yet to gather information on cousins and Max and Sarah's parents and siblings. As for info I may have come across, I think I may have seen those names in some of the 1920/1930 census'. Hope it helps!

My grandfather was a Jacob Berman, born in Russia probably between 1881 and 1885. His parents names were Louis and Rose. I believe his parents remained in Russia. At the moment I have no information about siblings. My grandfather came to the United States, probably as a teen and married Rachael Karp.

I am seeking information on a family named Barmab. They set sail for the United States in the early 1900s from Southampton, England. Originally from Konstantin Russia. Most settled in NYC and changed name from Barmab to Berman. Others, two men, entered the U.S. from Canada and settled in St Louis MO. One is known to have been a grocer who went by the name of Biermann. He applied for citizenship after marrying an American woman. Nothing more is known about him.

It's been a while since I updated this. I did find out that the Bermans from my family came from Kiev. Also, the parents of Hilda, Saul, Mildred and Sue were Eli Berman and Rose Goodman. I was told that someone from the Goodman side moved to South Africa.

I have been looking for information on my grandparents Israel and Sarah Farber Berman. They were born in Lithuania probably in the 1890s. I now Israel had a brother and his father's name was Joseph. He came to NY first and she followed. It doesn't sound like there is a connection, but you never know.

What I find interesting is that Israel and Sarah had a son named Abraham born around 1915 and a daughter Rose (my mother) born in 1917. They had 2 other sons, Jack and Milton. All were born in NY.

Perhaps you found some information that would be helpful to me in your research.

We are still looking for Pincus Paul Berman and his family that moved to California from New York City, father of Arnold and Billy. We know there were girls born in California. Pincus Paul was the brother of Maurice (Morris) Berman, Frank Berman, Rae Feinberg, Sylvia, and Anna. We believe that Pincus Paul died on May 19, 1959 in Los Angeles, CA. His wife's name was Flo. Hey I am trying to trace the family members of Max Berman, born ca 1860 I am pretty sure he was born in Odessa Russia. I know he had a daughter named Rose born ca 1899, another daughter Cecile, two sons Paul and Harry, and possibly two other children. As far as I know they were all born in Odessa, Russia and immigrated to US around 1902. I would really appreciate any help and contacts that can be made!

Hey, thanks again for your reply, I don't why it didn't occur to me sooner, but the Rose Berman I am looking for did have a brother, Abraham born in 1896 making him old enough to be the father of your Rose Berman. However, according to a census I found Abraham was living in New York in 1920, so either Abraham is not her father or he was not around? Let me know if any of this rings a bell.

So, after finding a 1920 census I found out that Max Berman's wife was Sarah Berman and they actually had 8 kids: Augusta, Abraham, Cecil, Rose, Harry, Soloman, Frieda, and Paul all born between 1894 and 1909. The older three were born in Odesa, Russia and the younger five were born in New York.
Again any help that you can provide is very much appreciated!

I am looking for possible siblings and cousins of my great grandfather Louis Goodman Berman.

Louis Goodman Berman (Goodman Berman)was born about 1845 in Russia and immigrated to England were his children were born. His wifes name is Ethel Fanny Bernstein.
Possible siblings were born between 1841 and 1850 in Russia. The following is a possible list: Hannah Berman (abt 1847) Russia (On 1881 England Census; Nathan Berman (About 1841) - Spouse Polly,
Morris Berman (About 1843) and died between 1905 and 1907 London, England and Jacob Berman (About 1845))

Hello All

I have been researching my Mendelson ancestry for 6 years now. According to a 1907 passenger manifest on a Louis/Leibel Mendelson it states he was going to a cousin named Morris Berman. The address on the manifest is hard to make out, but it looks like canal street. Any one have a Morris Berman in their lineage that most likely was born in russia and maybe from a town called Mogilev. I am curious to find out the parentage of this Morris Berman and if he ties in with either the Mendelson line or the Katz line.

That is only thing I know! Maybe a dauther of one of the four kids of Max Berman.

I am searching for this Berman family who lived in St Paul in 1900. I believe they were both from Germany and had 5 or 6 children. Gretchen or Grace b 1895, Lillie b 1898, Charles or Pollie b 1900, Walter b 1902 and Harry b 1904. I believe they were all born in Wisconsin or Minnesota.

Louise died abt 1908 and the boys were sent to Salt Lake either to an orphanage or to live with a family named Paul (sp?)

So Robert is Related to Ellen Lea Vangarick as brother and sister and my mother is the daughter of Ellen. My mother ran away and never kept in touch with Ellen until recently. Ellen is 71 years old and lives with Paul Martin her husband. Ellen has kept everything a secret and so has my mother a little.
