The Bernbeck name has two different origins: one in Bavaria for a family still living there, and one for a family from the area down the Rhine river from Cologne, but now located in Hesse. The latter family has an own website (http://www.bernbeck.de). Bernbecks from both families emigrated to the USA and Australia. Other major names from the Hessian Bernbeck family are Wahl, Strack, Bichmann, and Scriba (the first two of which have their own board here).
