I believe this Mary Ann Hamilton to be the sister of my gg grandfather, Henry Hamilton. I have Henry's parents listed as William Hamilton and Jane Unknown. All were born in England, moved to Canada and eventually ended up in Michigan. Mary Ann & David lived briefly in Iowa as did another one of her brothers, John Hamilton, and his family. Do you have any info on Mary Ann's parents or siblings or where she is from?

Any descendent info you can give me on Mary Ann & David Bearinger would be appreciated.
Berringer/Barringer and he was born in 1875 in Wayne County Michigan. My great grandmothers name is Catharine Barringer/Berringer and I don't know what my great grandfathers name was. All I do know is that according to the 1880 census records she was the head of the household and that she was supposed to have come from New York. Anyone with information on this side of the family could you please pass it along, I am in dire need of the information. Thank you!!!!!!

Sorry for the delay in answering you.
Benjamin Berringer was a Cavalier in King James 11 Army and owned a plantation with Yeamens in Barbados. He had a Brother and a Sister living in London England whom he visited before he was murdered. He gave them each two Hundred pound which was a lot of money in the 1600's. I have visited where his Brother John Berringer is buried. His sisters name was Elizabeth.
I do have some more info but will have to dig it out as at my age the memory is not as good as it was
Rgs John Berringer

Thanks for getting back to me Delmer.

William was my Great-Great-Grandfather. My Great Grandfather was Elijah Bearinger; my Grandfather was Willard Bearinger; and my father is Lewis W. Bearinger of Traverse City, MI.

Lewis was the only child of Willard and Eva "Barnes" Bearinger; Willard and Blanch Belle Bearinger were the childern of Elijah and Mary "Miller" Bearinger. William & Margaret "Ellenbaum" Bearinger had 10 other children beside Elijah, and settled in Lapeer County sometime after 1870. As far as I can tell, they lived on a farm that was apparently owned by Elijah's older bother, Isaac Bearinger of Saginaw. William and Margaret both died in Imlay Township, Lapeer County, Michigan. William on 4-17-1908 and Margaret on 7-24-1906.

I would be very interested in any information regarding David Bearinger prior to or while in PA.

Thanks Delmer. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Ivan Bearinger - Traverse City, MI

Your David Bearinger is the brother of my Solomon I. Bearinger. Solomon is the one in our family line. There is much information listed for your David Bearinger on the internet. Try to google the name. Check spelling David Barringer as well. You should get several hits.
Can you tell me where you are in Michigan? My Bearinger line is still in Michigan. You can email me at tbearinger@aol.com if you prefer.
Here are a couple sites to check. Good luck.

http://ebybook.region.waterloo.on.ca/getPerson.php?personID=...

Delmer B. Martin has quite a bit of information on this family line. Cut and paste this heading below into the message board on ancestry.com to find Delmers information.
"David Bearinger of Lancaster County PA"
He can be a great help to you as well. I do have some information I would be more than happy to share with you but it would be more of Solomon's information that I have.
I understand David was born in PA around 1794. Also, I do not have any history regarding Sary Smith. I also understand they were Mennonites..???

With your extensive "tree", can your shead any light?

Ivan Bearinger

Hi Sharon.
Berringer is a german name from the middle ages. Its meaning is Bear as far as I can tell. Various variation of it excist. Many of the Berringers immigrated to England & Nova Scotia as well as the Carolinas via The Barbados Island. That was in the 1600's to the 1800's.

Rgs John Berringer

The information I have is that David Bearinger was born between April 24 1797 up to 1794. In the Wellington County Court Records Mennonite Bishop Benjamin Eby stated that David Bearinger was a Mennonite and that he died on August 14, 1860 in Waterloo County Ontario Canada.

According to my records David Bearinger had the following daughters...

Susanah Bearinger: possibly born July 11, 1818 and died March 30, 1819.

Sallie Bearinger possibly born September 24, 1824.

Mary Bearinger possibly born May 1, 1828 and died 1899.

Barbara Bearinger possibly born Feb. 24, 1830 and died May 29, 1853. I have records showing Barbara being married to Jeremiah Walker born @1826of Blenheim Twp. Ontario Canada.

Rachael Bearinger born about October 20, 1831.

Mary Ann Bearinger born about Dec. 16 1839 and died in MI about Sept. 25 1916. Mary Ann may have been married to Nathaniel Morrisson.

There may have been other sisters...

The above had many brothers and they lived/died in Ontario Canada and in Michigan USA.

Delmer Bearinger Martin
Re this Berringer/Bearinger line. John Pender, born Haxey, Lincolnshire, England, married a Barringer about 1845. We believe that this might be a Rachel Barringer. They probably resided Woolwich, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They had two sons:
John Pender/Pindar Jr. born 30 Aug 1846
Charles Pender/Pindar born 18 Oct 1848

The wife (nee Barringer) died some time between 18 Oct 1848 and middle/late 1849 because John Pender married Mary Elizabeth Letson, and their first child was my Great-grandmother: Catherine Elizabeth Julia Letson, born 27 May 1850. It was previously assumed that the first two children born to John Pender were also the children of Mary Elizabeth Letson, that was incorrect.

We don't know the name of the Barringer, we would like to find out, just for reference sake.

I am searching for the surname Berringer who were suppose to be Seneca/Cayuga Indians. Is this a Native American name?
I have a Frank who was born 1857, died 1948. Was married to a Catherine Lamer who was born in 1865 PA, died 1941. They had a son Dallas James who was b-1891 Garmon, PA
d-1924 in Oil City, Venango Co., PA. Was married to Zella Russell who was b-1896 d-1929 Spangler, Cambria Co., PA.
Dallas and Zella had a daughter Ruth E. b-Aug 1912, d-Oct 22, 1971. She married a Emanuel Allen Croasmun.
After Franks wife Catherine died, he lived with a woman who adopted Dallas.
Don't know if any of my info is correct. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
*DAVID BEARINGER - a native of Pennyslvania, was born in 1794, and came to Canada when about twenty years of age & settled near Hespeler. He was married to a Miss Smith, a daughter of "Yankee Smith."
* ( I can't name the printed source of this because it was sent to me by someone else)
*Can anyone tell me which daughter of the above David Bearinger and "Miss" Smith married John Pender, born Haxey, Lincolnshire, England (1826) and died Caledonia, MI. (1908). They had two sons:
John born 1846, Canada
Charles born 1848, Canada
She died sometime after and he remarried, Mary Elizabeth Letson, of Woolwich, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada about 1849.
Daughter of Daniel Letson and Catherine Stoner
*Thank you Delmer for your reply. In the past, not too long ago, I received an email from another person who wrote that one of these Barringer daughters was married to a John Pender or Pindar. Not long after that I lost my email and unfortunately did not copy her letter. I believe that it was the daughter Rachel, I see by yours that she was born about 1831. That would be about the right time. Following are the children I have noted: David; Samuel; William; Noah; Solomon; Sallie; Rachel and James. Then I have an outline of the lineage of the son: David, married in 1841 to Catharine Lorentz, a step-daughter of "old" John Huber. It goes on to name their children: John; Annie; Moses; Aaron; Catharine; Noah; Samuel; Lydia; Menno and Hannah.
*We know for certain that John Pender/Pindar was married first to a Barringer, it seems possible after receiving that earlier email about Rachel (I think) that his first wife's name was indeed Rachel. I would like some help, "getting to the bottom of this." Thanks!
