My Mother's father was Edward E Berta. (Retired City and County of SF) His father, Edward C Berta of San Francisco and brother to Celia Berta Gellert of San Francisco, Marcel Berta of Oakland, Walter Berta of Marin and Lillian Berta who died at 17 in Redwood City. Peter Berta was their father. Peter Berta was brother to Mary Berta Zanoni. (My Grandfather's Mother (Carolina Zanoni) married her first cousin (Edward C Berta). I know the Zanoni's came from Tecino Switzerland and the Berta's came from Brissago Switzerland. Peter Berta first married a woman named Mary Colombo. I do not know what happened to her. But it was around 1896 because Marcel and Edward C went to live with Mary Berta Zanoni in La Honda, CA - then - Hollister, CA. Peter married a new wife... Amelia Garzoli and had Walter, Celia and Lilly. ANY information you can help me with would be very much appreciated.
