My Great Great Grandmother was Jane Bertie (b1836), she was born in Sheffield. I was able to locate her and her family in 1841 in Sheffield working within the steel industry. I know her mother Jane (b1796) and father William (b1797) were not born in Yorkshire and I think in a later census I found that there was a Scottish link. Jane Bertie then married William Copeland in approx 1859 in Liverpool, Lancs. If you have any more information on the Bertie link I would love to know more about them as I haven't been able to trace much about them.
