Since posting my original query on the board, I have gotten a copy of "Piere Bertine -1686: Descendants and allied families", by Dorothy Wilkerson Bertine. It's a true opus of the Bertine family. Dorothy Bertine is a real genealogist, using all sorts of census, church, etc. records. She doesn't guess. If she's not sure of the relationship, she says she's not sure. She also appears to have figured out the various Pierre/Peters, of which there was at least one in each generation. There are a number of Sarah's in the book. If your Sarah is buried at St. Paul's, she's definitely of the same line as Robert, Paschal, William and the rest. So we are in someway cousins. You also have a kissin' cousin named Carol in North Dakota (descended from a William Bertine). Send me as much info as you can about your Sarah and I'll go through the book and find her. We've got a blizzard heading our way, and I may get to it this weekend if my lights stay on. I'm also going to St. Paul's as soon as it warms up. I'll be taking pictures at the cemetery for Carol from North Dakota, and will be glad to take some for you too.
