Berton is a name derived from the Language the Cilts spoke.
Breton was their language and the 'e' and 'r' are reversed to get Berton.
However, There are many Bertons in Northern Italy, Switzerland, Canada, and other parts of Europe.
In my research I have not found a Thomas Berton but if I do I will contact you.
