Generation One


1. Helen Elizabeth RIDENOUR was born on 20 Jan 1828 in Fredricksburg, Maryland. She married first John Anthony BERTON, son of Johann Louis BERTON and Louise (--?--), on 4 May 1846 in Tiffin, Seneca Co., Ohio, by Father J McNamee. Helen Elizabeth Ridenour's second marriage was to David Durbin on 19 Jan 1856 Helen's first husband died in 1854. David's first wife had died in 1855. She died on 13 Aug 1866 in Ohio at age 38. She was buried in Aug 1866 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, her first husband and two children are also buried here.
John Anthony BERTON was born in 1828 in Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, in 1900 census, John's daughter, Emma, reports her father was born in France. He died on 30 Oct 1854 in Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio. He was buried in Nov 1854 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, in the old part of the cemetery in section AR 10, next to his daughter, Alice.

2 i. Mary Adaliad Magdalan BERTON was born on 28 Feb 1847. She died on 10 Oct 1850 in Allen Co., Ohio, at age 3. She was buried in Oct 1850 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, listed as "Margaret E.M. Berton" age 8y.
3 ii. Alice Elizabeth BERTON was born on 23 Dec 1849 in Allen Co., Ohio. She died on 30 Jul 1850 in Allen Co., Ohio. She was buried in Aug 1850 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, in the old part of the cemetery in section AR 10, next to her father.

In the 1920 census he is listed as "J.A." and his father born in Missouri, mother in PA! By the 1930 census he is age 78 and back to report of father born in Ohio and mother in MD. John was an orphan, as his parents were both deceased by the time he was 15. He married Mary Christine Remlinger on 22 May 1871.
+ 5 iv. Emily Cecelia BERTON was born on 4 Feb 1854 in Ohio father born in France, mother in Maryland (1900 and 1910 census). She married John Mathias Laudick on 28 Oct 1875 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, witnesses Franck Laudick and Carolina Bergfeld.
David Durbin was born on 25 Oct 1816 in Fredricksburg, Maryland, calculated using age at death. He married first Ann Fox on 9 Apr 1850 in Seneca Co., Ohio. He died on 9 Sep 1859 in Wyandot Co., Ohio, at age 42 more information: aged 42y 10m 15d. He was buried in Sep 1859 in St. John cemetery, McCutchenville, Tymochtee twp., Wyandot Co., Ohio, buried with his first wife.
The only known child of Helen Elizabeth RIDENOUR and David Durbin was:
+ 6 i. Helen Rose Durbin was born on 17 Nov 1857 in Salem twp., Wyandot Co., Ohio, in the 1900 census she reports both parents born in Maryland and she was born in Nov 1859, now age 40. In 1920 census it is reported she is now 60, her father born in MD and mother in VA. Both of Helen's parents had passed away by the time she was nine years old.

4. John Louis Anthony BERTON was born on 16 Aug 1851 in Spencerville, Allen Co., Ohio, in 1880 census he is age 28; father born in Ohio, mother in MD. 1910 census, age 61 both parents born in OH. In the 1920 census he is listed as "J.A." and his father born in Missouri, mother in PA! By the 1930 census he is age 78 and back to report of father born in Ohio and mother in MD. John was an orphan, as his parents were both deceased by the time he was 15. He married Mary Christine Remlinger on 22 May 1871. He died on 2 Jan 1931 in Sapulpa, Creek Co., Oklahoma, at age 79.
Mary Christine Remlinger was born circa 1850 in Ohio in 1880 census she is age 30 and reports both parents were born in France. 1910 census age 61, both parents born in OH. By the 1930 census she is age 80 and back to reporting both parents born in France.

10 iv. Raymond Anthony BERTON was born on 1 Jan 1880 in Michigan. He died on 4 May 1947 in Ward Co., Texas, at age 67.
11 v. Dolores BERTON was born circa 1884 in Ohio.
+ 12 vi. Ida BERTON was born circa 1885 in Ohio. She married Billy Doudnan circa 1915 in Oklahoma report married four years as of 1910.
13 vii. Beatrice BERTON was born circa 1887 in Ohio.
14 viii. Terrance BERTON was born in 1890 in Ohio.
15 ix. Mercedes BERTON was born circa 1900 in Texas.

5. Emily Cecelia BERTON was born on 4 Feb 1854 in Ohio father born in France, mother in Maryland (1900 and 1910 census). She married John Mathias Laudick on 28 Oct 1875 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, witnesses Franck Laudick and Carolina Bergfeld. She died on 1 Apr 1936 in Allen Co., Ohio, at age 82. She was buried in Apr 1936 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, section L with husband.
John Mathias Laudick was born on 27 Nov 1848 in Ohio also have b. Nov 1850, both parents born in Germany (1900 and 1910 census). He died on 7 Jun 1936 in Allen Co., Ohio, at age 87. He was buried in Jun 1936 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, in new cemetery, section L, with wife. He was an informant on the death certificate of Mary Helen Laudick on 4 Aug 1910.

Informant on her certificate was her father. She was buried on 7 Aug 1910 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, in new cemetery, section L, parents.
17 ii. Louis Conrad Laudick was born on 29 Aug 1878 in Ohio. He married Daisy Clara Cochran, daughter of W.R. Cochran and Flora B Odem, on 21 Jun 1905 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, witnesses were Amadeus J. Laudick (groom's brother) and Artie Cochran. He died on 16 Jun 1936 in Ohio at age 57. He was buried in Jun 1936 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery, Delphos, Allen Co., Ohio, in section L.
Daisy Clara Cochran was born on 28 Sep 1883 in Ohio both parents born in Ohio. Daisy Clara Cochran's second marriage was to (--?--) Sherrick after 1936 Daisy's first husband died in 1936.
