I am looking for a Clara BERTRAND who is the father of my ancestor Lester PURDY according to Lester's SS-5.
Clara is indexed with husband Aaron PURDY on the 1900 census of Saginaw Co, MI, where their son Lester was born in 1867.
Her mother's maiden-name might have been DEFOE or DEFORE. My grandmother, Esther Altheda PURDY, recalls that Clara's family was "lumber wealthy", and that they would ride in her glass-enclosed electric carriage to the theater on Saturdays.
Any help would be most welcome.
