BESS CENSUS RECORDS
Does anyone out there know why when I research Bess federal census records the results always say "Bess" surname but when I look at the actual census document the handwriting clearly appears to say "Befs" rather than "Bess?"
This is truly driving me crazy. My Bess family is the Stueben County NY and New Providence NJ lines.
