I need help. here's where I am, Samuel Bestward married Jane Kelly, both from Bruce County. They had a whack of kids, one of whom was also Samuel who married Mary Ellen Muir. Muirs are apparently from Pennsylvania at some point. Anyway Sam and Mary Ellen had five children, Lorne, Stanley, Rita, Ida and Ethel. Sam and Mary died around 1819 and children were scattered to various friends and families. For some time they were at the Rouse's in Wiarton (cousins), and Ida eventually was raised by Helen and John McKenzie of Chatsworth. Stanley died around age 24. Lorne lived in Hanover, Rita in Wiarton, Ida in Chatsworth (she married Joseph Pringle). Ethel was a baby when parents died and ended up without her siblings. For years no-one could find her, until her brother and sisters put an ad in all Ontario papers to locate her. Does any of this ring any bells with anybody? Would really like to know more, Ida was my grandmother.
