Memorial service for Adam Dewayne Bethany, 76, of Los Angeles will be today, May 14, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur.
Visitation will be today from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Bethany died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Los Angeles. He was born Jan. 8, 1929, to James Bethany and Verna Mae Fields Allfrey of Athens. He was the beloved stepson of Laura Whitten Bethany of Decatur; and the grandson of Sylvester and Florence Bethany of Decatur, formerly of Kemper County, Miss. Dewayne had traveled all over the world and had lived for several years in Spain and Persia. His home had been in Los Angeles for the past several years.
He leaves behind his half brothers, John Allfrey and Bobby Allfrey, both of Athens; a half sister, Susan Morgan of Delray Beach, Fla.; and many friends.
