The Bethel's in my family on my grandmother side came originally from England around 1600's they were known as the the Eleutheran adventure's. They were white, they brought along with them slaves and eventually as time went by the balck people and white people started having interracial marriages because the name of the island Eleuthera, means freedom. This is strange because my great grandparent were both Bethel's. My great grandmother was more on the caucasion side even thoug one of her parents were white and one was black. But my great grandfather was clearly of african descent, my grandmother (his daugther) said that he was a very tall, dark strong man. So dark infact all of his kids inherated his color.
My grandaunt who lives in miami is also their
daugther but she is not from africa she is from the Bahamas.........Ken
