Mariruth,
It is my pleasure, I can't count how many times someone has helped me out over the last 15 years of researching.
As for documentation, I haven't been working on my husband's Betterley line for as long as my own, but I can offer the following:
(My husband's line splits off from yours with William Ward Betterley(1835-1899)brother to your George Warren Betterley (1815-1886)- sons of George Betterley (1790-1858)and Dimmis Whipple (1792-1864) - so I will start there)
First, let me say, you will find a wealth of Betterley information (including this line) on www.minnesotacousins.com
Also, look for more on John Alden and Priscilla Mullins on the Alden Kindred of America sight at www.alden.org - other Alden decendents include John Adams, John Quincy Admas, the poet Longfellow, Marilyn Monroe and Dan Quayle to name a few.
There is a bible record (The Dunklee Bible) transcribed which holds information on the Betterley's (located on the Minnesota Cousins website)I've copied it in below.
The Alden website lists the first three generations of Alden kindred on their website: http://www.alden.org/our_family/3generations.htm
which is taken from published works on the Alden descendency records. There is also a 5-genreation book out there thatI plan to get ahold of as well. This would connect our Dunklee bible data to the Alden data directly. (5th generation from John Alden and Priscilla Mullins is Thomas Betterley and Elizabeth Carson)
Loren Dahling (minnesotacousins.com)mentions some of her sources on her website and states that you can e-mail her to request all of them. I haven't done so yet, but I'm sure if you ask her she could provide you with a ton of primary sources.
