He was married to Mary Dozier and they had the following childen: John Jr. Bettis moved to Liberty Co., GA in 1752; James Betts moved to Craven Co., NC; Thomas Bettys seems to have stayed in Pasquotank; Dozer Betts seems to have stayed in Pasquotank, his wife's last name was James; Francis Bettis, b. circa 1700 married Mary Evans, died around 1796; William Bettis, seems to have stayed in NC.
Francis Bettis had the following children: Judith b. 1720, Elijah, Elisha, John born 1738 died 1781 or 1782, buried at Edgefield SC; Francis Jr., bachelor, stayed in NC; Mary Bettis, and Janet Bettis.
