Johanna,

BETZ is a relatively common name in Germany.
I've seen it in various places throughout-- both in the Rheinpfalz area as well as Schwarzwald. My own BETZ ancestors come from a region just west of Frankfurt.

In fact, the sister of my great-great-grandmother was named Johanna Betz.
