Clifford W. Betz Obit
JEROME — Clifford W. Betz, age 78, of Jerome, passed away on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Drews Place of Hillsdale.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1929, in Blissfield, to Lawrence and Eleanor R. (Fatchett) Betz. He married Patricia L. Baldwin on June 11, 1949, in Riga, and she survives.
He lived his early life in Riga before moving to the Jerome area in 1956. He owned and operated his own farm, and he was formerly employed at Crop-Aid Elevator in Hudson. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Jerome, Kilwinning Lodge #299 of Jerome.
Surviving besides his wife, Patricia, are two sons, Michael (Shari) Betz of Jerome and Terry (Connie) Betz of Sparta, Mich.; two daughters, Peggy Jamnick of Ypsilanti and Carol McCarvelle of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Addison, with Pastor Fred Slagle officiating. Burial will take place in Aldrich Cemetery-West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday.
