Hello,

I would like a family crest picture!
My Grandfather was born in Germany his name is Great grandfather George Betzold. The story I was told was that him and his sister were orphaned and noone knows who raised them, maybe a relative. My Grandfather also George Betzold
lived in Colorado and Kansas.
Maybe you have information?

George who md Martha Parsons and had Jean Moser b 1930

Clara who married Grover Aumick, no children, but they may have adopted their nephew Grover Engle and he took the name Grover Aumick

Jacob b 1889 md Christine and had Albert G 1931, Vivian K b 1925d 2006 and Charline b 1922 d 1976
Elizabeth b 1893 md __ Engle and had Earl 1914/15/16 d 1977 and Grover b 1918; md (2) William Betzold and had William 1923-1985

Surnames: Betzold(paternal) and Hetz (I think)-(maternal)

I am searching for the past of Marilyn Ann Betzold and her German heritage,(Prussia, I believe). Her direct family settled in what is now Brainerd, MN(possibly Crow Wing, MN area). Her father was John Betzold and her mother was Marguerite Hetz,(I believe). They were Catholic and she had 3 brothers: John, Bob(possibly, Robert), and another, as well as a twin sister, Marianne.(Possibly, Marion/Marienne).

Hi there.
My name is Jennifer Ebeling and my great grandfather was Servatzius May. He came to America with his brothers John and Mike. They listed they were coming to Osceola Iowa to settler with their brother-in-law with the last name of Krausert (this is on the ship manifest)- they arrived in American in 1893. Later, John and his wife Anna, moved to Canada. I believe that they followed the Krauserts once more. The manifest is difficult to read - but the name looks something like Lorenz J Krausert. I see on familysearch.org that there was a Conrad Krausert who was married to a Kiffler? Kiffler or Kuveler was a family that had married with the May family for a few generations back in the Eifel region of germany. Any info you may have on this family would be a great help to me. Are the Mays and the Krauserts together up in Alberta?

Just found this board. My wife's family has Betzold's coming from Germany to PA. Anyone have a John E married to a Florence L? A Joseph married to Lydia? John married to Kate with children Florence and Clementine (lived to be over 100)?

Nora Betzold's maiden name was HILTON. I'm related thru her husband's side of the family.

I am a descendant of Michael Betzold b.1832 in Germany, married Barbara (?)who was b.1830 in Germany. They had 5 known children:
Katherine b. abt 1855 in Germany, Frederick, Margaret,Mary, Annie all born in MD. Michael immigrated to U.S, between 1855-1860.
The family lived in Catonsville, Baltimore Co.,MD. were Catholic.
Any help would be veryt appreciated.

Obit: Otto BETZOLD, 61, died at his home here at 3 a.m. Wednesday. Death was unexpected, although he had been under the care of a doctor. On Tuesday he had been downtown.

Mr. BETZOLD was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper BETZOLD. He was born on Feb. 21, 1878. On Aug. 8, 1910 he married Miss Augusta HESS of Edwardsville.

For many yeas he operated a butcher shop in this city, retiring a number of years ago.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ruth PICARD of New Orleans, LA., three sisters, Mrs. Ida RUFFNER and Mrs. Mary BUCK, East St. Louis and Mrs. Kate PICARD, Nashville, TN., and four brothers, George of Collinsville, John of Chicago, and Albert and Fred BETZOLD of this city. Funeral services have not been arranged but will be announced Thursday. [Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, IL., Dec. 20, 1939]

Trying to find the maiden name of Nora who married George BETZOLD abt. 1911.

George was born Feb. 25, 1883 in IL. Was a farmer in Montgomery, Christian and lastly (as far as I know) Shelby Co's of IL.

He and his wife are buried in Mound Cem., Oconee, Shelby Co., IL

According to 1918 draft registration card, George's middle name was Fred and he was a farmer in Nokomis.

Searching for more info on his wife, Nora. She, as well as many other women, signed a friendship quilt dated 1938. All who signed were of Shelby Co., IL. Am looking for maiden name. Any help appreciated.

My name is Nick Betzold Jr., I am a great great granson of Margaret Betzold, mother of my great grandfather, Nicholas, father of my grandfather Harold, father of my father, Nicholas (Sr.). Based on what I have read in the system, from older messages, you believe Margaret, who lived in Brainerd, MN at the time of the 1880 census, was married to a John Betzold. Am I correct in this and if so, where did you find this information and have you found anything else out about the families history in Germany, Ohio or Indiana before they got to MN? If you are related to the same Margaret, I believe we're related! Thanx for your help!

Hope we have a connection.
My great grandmother Annie Mueller, widow of Henry Mueller, Baltimore, remarried to a Frederick Betzold, also of Baltimore.
Together they had a daughter, Magdalena, born 1894. Frederick died sometime before 1913, because the then widow Annie moved with her daughter to Reading, Pennsylvania. She lived there until at least 1921. After that, I lose the trail, although she may have passed away.

Does any of this tie in with your Betzold family? I do not know where Annie is buried, but my guess is Baltimore as she had 2 husbands there.

I hope this is the break I've been looking for!

Trying to fing living relatives

I am trying to find any relatives of mine. My mother's name was Olive Lois Schotting, My dad's name was Frank Schotting. My mom's maiden name was Moser. Her moms full name was Elizabeth Moser. My mom's, mom married William Betzold. They were all from the surronding Pittsburgh Pa. area. My mom was born in 1924. I know that my mom had 5 other siblings. Please let me know if anyone out there has any information that would be able to help me track down any information on my family.
