This is for all Beverlin descendants of Samuel & Prudence and their sons, John, Joshua, Israel and Jesse. I have all of their Civil War records and would like to build a website for this line. I would love to include a picture of the sons to go along with their Civil War records. Does anyone out there have photos that you can send digitally to go with their service records? I already have a photograph of Samuel Beverlin. I would appreciate any help that anyone can provide. I am looking at about 35 pages for this website. Here is an example of what I have been able to do: www.fluhartyancestry.weebly.com. I would very much like to do something similar for our Beverlin line. Please correspond with me via my email address. It is joycefluharty@hotmail.com.
Thanks Jerry, for answering my post. I'm not sure you will remeber me, but my name is Judi and I was seeing Michael back in 1986 and 87.I had a child her name is Jacquelyn, but I call her Jackie. She is now 23 years old. Please know this is not sent to hurt anyone.Jackie just wanted to know something about her real fathers family. I hope you can understand this. When my husband died Jackie was 15 years old. We had always told her the truth. So when she decided she wanted to learn about this I wasn't surprizeed. I remarried a wonderful man and he was a wonderful father to her and still is. She wants nothing but to know something of your family and her background. If you think this is possible please contact me though my e-mail. I know she would be happy to know her Uncle and any others of yours and Michaels family.
Thank you for listening to me, I await your answer.
Judi

Steve, good to hear from a Beverlin cousin. I remember Foster slightly; but remember my dad, DEAN, liked them both very well. Yeah, Leona was a sweetheart; she just died recently. Her daughter Carolyn died several years ago. Don't really remember Uncle [actually great Uncle] Iz [as he was called] but do remember lots of funny stories about him. Your grandfather Israel and my grandfather John Samuel were brothers.
I am the youngest child and my father was next to youngest. His mother was 39 when he was born and daddy was 40 when I was born. So I'm on the tailend of an old family. My 'grandmother' was born in 1875!! So most of my great uncles and aunts are faded memories to me. I'd say the only great uncle I remember much is Uncle Tom because we use to as kids go to her son's Clyde's house a lot at Sedalia.
Hey Steve, great hearing from you; keep in touch. Where are you living these days? I live outside of Salem and work as the director of tourism for the city of Clarksburg.

My name is Steve Beverlin, my dad was Foster Glen Beverlin, born #2 in 1912, in Salem WV of Israel and Millie. I remember meeting uncle Darell one time while on vacation when we lived in West Texas. (about 1957 or so). We stayed at aunt Leone's house.
From recollection the names were uncle Frank the oldest, my dad Foster, and I don't know the birth order of the rest but their names were Delmas Dean, Dallas Dane, (twins), Darell the youngest, Drexal, LouDale, aunt Wanda, Leone, (Leone had two girls Jackie and Carolyn). I can't remember the rest.

Hi Kathie,
My name is Steve Beverlin (named after my dads favorite uncle Stephen Beverlin). My dad was Foster Beverlin, second oldest of the 13 kids of my paternal grandparents Israel and Millie Beverlin. As I remember, Uncle Frank was the oldest. They were all from Salem, WV. My dad Foster passed in 1979 and my favorite uncle Delmas Beverlin passed in 1989. I remember aunt Leone (as we called her..not Leona) and she had two daughters Carolyn and Jackie. I think I met Uncle Darrel one time when we went on vacation to Salem back in the late 50s.
Just today I found another Beverlin buried in a cemetery in Lewis County, MO - an infant daughter of the John Miller Beverlin who was my father-in-law (also John Miller Beverlin)'s g.grandfather. I'll send you info as my time permits.

I just printed out the descendant chart for my husband's grandfather, Emerson Elgin Beverlin. I see a lot of missing info especially about his great grandchildren. James Patrick Beverlin is missing from the chart - he's another brother of my husband. Will also send you an update on James and Rosemary (actually Mary Rose) my husband's aunt and uncle. Are you interested in bio info as well as just names/dates? Keep in touch-
Carol

You're welcome. I found other Jackson County marriage records of Beverlins at the same time I discovered this one. Interested? I have birth info about another Beverlin to add to the family tree. Olivia Grace was born June 23, 2005 in Overland Park, KS - daughter of Robert M. and Bobbie J. Olivia is my grandaughter. There were probably 5 more Beverlins born the past 2 yrs in my line. I'll get that info gathered up and posted.

Thank you for locating this marriage record. This would be a marriage for (as you said) Charles Homer Beverlin who was the son of Charles H. & Minnie Bell (Shull) Beverlin. His grandparents were George W. & Sarah Jane (Haynes) Beverlin. I have it that Charles Homer married a girl by the name of Marie abt 1923, so this would have been another marriage. Thank you for posting your message.
J. Rod Rood, Family Historian
