According to the book, Early Adventurers in the Town of Evansham, Volumn 4, written by Mary B. Kegley:

Burwell Bevill was married to Dorothy Johnston. He had sons named Benjamin and William H.

There may have been others, I don't know.

The book indicates that this information is true according to a 1850 census: Wythe County Federal Census, 1850, Family 146, 158, 162.

My family is of the William H. Bevill. I am trying to find a link to Essex. So far, very little information on Benjamin or William.

It has been a long time since you've posted this, but I hope you are still monitoring this thread. My husband is descended from Granville Beville (born in 1824 in Screven, Georgia). He later moved to Sumter, Florida. Is this the Beville line that you are from?

How about those Dutch!!!

Dutch centenarians increase

www.chinaview.cn 2009-03-23 21:18:59 Print

BRUSSELS, March 23 (Xinhua) -- The number of centenarians in the Netherlands increased rapidly in the past three decades and currently one in 10,000 Dutch citizens is aged over 100, the Dutch central statistics bureau (CBS) said on Monday.

There were 1,633 centenarians in the Netherlands as of January 1 this year, while in 1979 there were only 350 people aged 100 or older, the bureau said.

The oldest Dutch person is a 111-year-old woman living in Rotterdam. Of the 62 people aged over 105, just six are men.

Life expectancy of middle-aged and older people, and women in particular, has increased over the past few decades in the Netherlands, leading to a higher number of people living to very advanced ages, the statistics unit said.

Most new centenarians are women. In 1979 one third of hundred-year-olds were men. The percentage has now gone down to one in eight.
Yep, that was Ada and Ella and your grandmother...

ycunni253@juno.com
Hi, my name is Shelley Barrett and my grandmother was Marie Vannatta. (Anderson when married) She was 102 when she passed away this past April 30. I am interested in the photo that was found in St. Louis and is described on here. It is of Jacob and Sarah Vannatta who were my grandmother Marie's grandparents. Her father was Corneulis, their son. If it is possible, I would like to have a copy of that picture. I don't know if you can send it via e-mail, if you have a scanner, or if you could mail me a copy. My daughter's e-mail address is Val_barrett20@hotmail.com. I don't have one. So, if you could leave a message on here or e-mail her address I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Shelley Barrett

Looking for a family connection to James Bevil Evans b.1856 MS

I am hoping to find a Bevil connection to my Evans family and want to tap into the knowledge any Bevil researcher may possess about the Bevils of MS ALA or SC.

My Moses Evans married probably in MS and before 1847 to Adaline Elizabeth Johnston born 1825 in Alabama. Her parents names are not yet known but according to census information both were born in Georgia. The naming patterns of the Evans children may offer possible clues to Adaline's parent's names. Her 2nd born child was named John Johnston Evans; and the 4th born child was named James Bevil Evans. Perhaps Bevil was her mother's maiden name. (The name is not found (yet) on the Evans side of the family.) My g-grandfather James Bevil Evans was born in Kemper Co., Mississipi, the son of Moses Evans (b. 1811 SC); and Moses was the son of Robert Kelly Evans from South Carolina. It is not known when the Evans family left SC and moved west to AL-MS, but Moses Evans is found in Kemper County MS record as early as 1837 and can be continually found there through the 1860 census. After the Civil War the Evans family moved to Suwannee County Florida and are found residing there on the 1870 census.

I am in Louisiana, I am wondering if there are any conncections? I know 2 surnames of my family Bunchand Estre (pronounced "east") there is a disturbingly high death rate for people over 40 in my family therefore, I don't know where we come from or anything of the sort if you know anything of these names, I would be very grateful

Mgt. Bevill/Bevil m. Mahony in Ireland 1873

Is there anyone who traces back to a Bevill family in Skibbereen? Mgt. married Timothy Mahony in the RC church at Skibbereen in 1873. Children that I know of were Patrick, Charles, Ellen, Lizzie, Michael, and Honora. In the 1901 census there was a Mary North, mother, living with them. Margaret's father's name was Charles Bevill and Timothy's father was Patrick Mahony.
