Re: William Clark, Chloe Bexley, Bosha Terrell, Robert Clark, Nancy Clark, Eliza Clark, Anthony Paul

I am researching WILLIAM CLARK (given name unproved) who was married to CHLOE BEXLEY (b. abt. 1792 d. Sept 1859 death) Death date source: 1860 Mortality Schedule. [Note: The census taker listed people who had died between June 1st of the previous year and May 31st of the current census year. It was completed by Dr. WILLIAM FIELDING CLARK, her grandson. He listed her as a widow, born NC. (note: other sources say SC) Cause of death unknown, but ill 240 days prior to death at age 67. This family moved from GA to Marion County AL abt. 1820 (Pikeville District).
(I believe) some of their children were:
ROBERT CLARK (b. GA abt 1807-d. 1850) married BOSHA TERRELL (b. GA abt. 1802- d. 1864). She also listed on various documents as Bochia Clark or Bochia Clark or Boshum Clark and Bochie Clark.
WILLIAM CLARK (b. GA 1811- d.1883) md Lucinda (b. 1812- d. 1898).
ELLIS "JASPER" CLARK (b. GA 1817- d. 1898).
Other "possible" siblings include NANCY CLARK and ELLIZA CLARK. There is a Nancy (?Clark) who married ANTHONY PAUL. She died in 1895, at advanced age and was reported to be buried in the "Clark Graveyard" Marion Co., AL. She was survived by daughter, Mrs. JAMES B. CANTRELL, and son ROBERT PAUL.
ELLIZA or ELIZA CLARK is rumored to have married WILLIAM GRAHAM.
I welcome email from persons who are interested in sharing information on these families.
Deborah
Re: Bexley Ancestry

Hi,
My father was born in Bexley Miss. in '34 which is right next to Lucedale where my grandmother still lives. Lyman I have not heard but must be a cousin or uncle to my dad. Thirty years ago a lady called and had done an ancestor surch on the Bexley name. After contacting my grandmother she traced our roots in America, I believe, back to 1669. I will try to get this info from my mom, I am sure she has it stashed somewhere. I have spent many summers in Lucedale MS.
Linda Cope

Bexley Family

I am searching for information about Chloe Bexley who was born in North Carolina c. 1790, possibly in Craven County. She married William Clark in North Carolina (I believe) c. 1805. She gave birth to my ancestor, William Lee Clark, Jr. in 1811 in Georgia. The family eventually settled on a land grant in Marion County, Alabama, in 1820. She died in Marion County (Pikeville, now Hamilton) Alabama in 1860. Her other children were Robert Clark and Jasper Clark. They all lived and died in Marion County, Alabama.
