Hola!

Saludos
Luis Augusto Bonet Jordan

Their father was Thomas Bey, mother unknown and it's possible that they had a connection with the surname Smith as two of Ceres children were named with Smith as their middle name. She was also known as Kitty.

After a little research, I found that people who consider themselves of Moorish Americans attached El and Bey to their last names to signify their heritage. Which makes El and Bey almost as common as Smith. There were Moorish temples in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Detroit, New Jersey, West Virginia, Chicago and Ohio.
