Is anyone else researching the William Alexander Byus (married Catherine A. Morris) branch of the West Virginia Bias/Byus family? I am a great grandchildren, and my grandfather was D.C. Byus who moved to Illinois with the Methodist conference. I do not have the exact dates of the birth and death of William Byus. According to the census, he was probably born about 1842. He was a son of Bennett Bias and Margaret Irwin of Putnam Co. West Virginia. He was in Company D of the 7th West Virginia Cavalry. He lived most of his life in Beech Hill of Mason Co. where he was a farmer and merchant. Would appreciate any info on William Byus or his wife Catherine Morris. Thanks.
