Thank-you for your reply. I am only speculating that Laura-Lorena was a Bybee not a Byber. She would have had to be a daughter to Sherrod or John and Elizabeth since she was born abt.1827. With handwriting often not legible and accents often not understood, Byber could very well be Bybee. I once searched abt. 15 years before I realized that I was not searching for Amanda Parris but for Amanda Parrot. A census also indexed Yarbrough as Zarbourn. It would have made scense if they had been in the county I expected, but they were about 5 counties north of where I had expected them to be. The 1860 Jackson CO. TN lists Enoch and Lomeny (Lorena) as the parents of my Mary E. Lancaster who went to Gallatin CO. IL. I started researching in 1979 and I knew nothing about her except I had been told her maiden name was Lancaster. She had died
young. On her marraige application in 1881 she lists her parents as Clark and Lorena Lancaster. She also said she was born in Jackson CO. TN. Thank goodness for the internet! What took me decades can now be accomplished with a click of a button.
