Stephen Bible (1804-1875) was our great-great-grandfather, married to Mary Johnson (1812-1872). Their daughter Mary Anne (later known as Marianne) married Thomas Gallagher in Waterford in 1869. Family lore has it that this was a mixed marriage and that Thomas's parents were so angry that they never spoke to him again. However it seems that there was a family reconciliation after their deaths, some time in the early 1900s.
Mary Anne had a sister, Ellen, who married Richard Fitzgerald and is shown as a witness at Mary Anne's wedding.
In the Irish 1901 Census Thomas is shown as a visitor to the house of Ellen Fitzgerald in Waterford. Both are shown as aged 62 and both widowed.
Are there any Bible or Fitzgerald descendants who know of the family quarrel/reconciliation story?
