Hello, I'm looking for info on a Hannah Bice (married name I think) b. 1809 SC or 1820 depending on which census. She is living with her daughter in 1880 (Chilton Co. AL) and 1870 (Shelby Co. AL) FCs. Daughter is Martha S. E. Bice (b. 1852 GA), married Thomas Livingston Johnson (b. 1846 GA).
In 1870, also have living with them, Terrell Bice (B. 1847 GA) and Jonathan Bice (b. 1849 SC) and John Pugh, boarder (b. 1837 SC). There is no indication of relationships on 1870 FC :(... I wonder if the John Pugh was a neighbor/relative in SC and moved west with them?
Lots of Census searching has turned up no Hannahs the right age. As has been discussed on here before, there are some Terrells in St. Clair Co. AL in 1860 and one is the right age, right birth state (Son of Nathan).
It was mentioned here that the 3 Bice families in St. Clair Co. were brothers and moved on west. Does anyone have any info that they left any folks behind in AL? Terrell? Or someone who married Hannah and died or left to go west or something? Nathan's wife Mary is close to the right age for Hannah... any evidence she could be called Hannah and Nathan went west w/o her?
I pulled all the Bices in GA in 1950 and did find a Terrell the right age in Cass Co., but said born in SC, not GA. He was in a family with no adult men, Sarah was head, Rhonda appeared to possibly be the mother.
Thoughts? I'm running out of ideas!
Thanks.
Derric
