Hello-
My Bickel was Peter Bickel (1752-1821) Lancaster County, PA
married Anna Baughman. Their son, George apparently changed his name to George H. Pickle (1778-1859), married to Margaret Crain (1778-1858) -both are burried at the Baughman Burying Ground in PA. All the rest of the family used the Pickle/Pickell name. This might be a research clue.
