Seeking info on Valentine "Pete" BICKERT of Germany who came to the US with wife Katherine Amelia PFEFFER or PEPPER. Their first child was my gm Josephine Pauline BICKERT, b. 1875 in Trenton, Mercer Co, NJ. The family had 10 children, some born in Ohio, before they settled in the area of Birmingham, Jefferson Co., ALA. Have old letters written in "Old German" which may tell where this family came from if they can be translated. Any help on this line would be greatly appreciated.
