My name is Sally Taylor and I am trying to find any information that I can on my great grandmother's family. Her name was Minnie M. Biddle, she was married to Ellis N. Shelby, and had my grandfather Robert Wendell Shelby on 10/16/1908. Family legend has it that we are related to the Biddles of Philidelphia, and that my great grandmother Biddle's family originally came from Germany.

Thank you Leonard...Of Course I would welcome any info you might have. Perhaps we are related? Again, my ancestry is already traced to a Wm. V. Biddle..sexton of the Trinity Lutheran Church.. Phila., PA. in the years...1904-1911. ( Wm. S.- b. 1837..d. 9-15-1915) His Father is "our" problem. Caleb Biddle was "probably" a "Bittle". He is found in the 1840 Census as a Farmer in Montgomery County, Cheltenham Township, PA. Also.. the Phila. Bus. Register had him as a Farmer in the years 1856-1859... at Fisher's Lane, Germantown area of Phila. Thank YOU!

names.. name.. Biddle vs Biddles

Dear Folks...I found something interesting...those looking for the "Biddle" name maybe posting messages that say "Biddles"....of course, they're right.. but this poses a problem. The plural of any surname would be an "s" at the ending....example...Biddle vs. Biddles... the latter being more than ONE Biddle. Please keep this point in perspective.. Regards, Doug Biddle.
