Don't think that your Heinrich is the same as the one I found the records to. Hirschland is too far away from here.

I don't doubt that there might be a connection although, acc to the NARA-records, 301 "Bieber" emigrated between 1850 and 1897 from Germany to the US and there were also 66 "Biber.
I have him in my database, also. My line goes back to Hans Dietrich Bieber, b. abt. 1651. I know there are errors in my data some where, of course... Would love to compare notes!

Obviously, there are two Michael Bieber/Beavers who were born and died in the same year. OR, Michael had two wives as was very prolific! OR my information is incorrect. The Michael I have was probably born in North Carolina. Honestly, I don't know what to think.

Re: Question of Religous Lines

Hey, everybody! Jan here.

Something just occurred to me (duh!!) that some of our Bieber lines are are not Lutheran or Reformed Church. Not all of us came to America during the Palatine movement... Not all of us descend from Hans Dietrich Bieber.

I think it would be a great idea if we shared our respective
religious roots. None of my notes indicates a religious preference until a reference to the Organ Community, Rowan Co, North Carolina for Elias Beaver, descendant of Hans Dietrich. He was born in 1811.

The Organ Church was Lutheran, and the church down the road, the Reform Church, was Lower Stone, built just 1 foot bigger that Zion (Organ)... very big conflict...

A big part of our genealogical searches is religion. It might help many on the list to connect with ancestors if we
posted our knowledge of reglious connections, connected to specific names and dates.

We are ALL family, no matter what. I, for one, was baptized and confirmed Lutheran; but that doesn't mean all my
ancestors were! Some may have "converted" from Judaism to survive the holocaust. And, others had enough "intestinal fortitude" ....
You posted info on Arthur Jacob Bieber on 1/28/00. I think I may have info for you and I'm hoping you have info for me.

You posted:

Grandfather Arthur Jacob Bieber born 1890 probably in Germany. Immigrated to U.S., lived in Chicago, IL. Died in 1936. His wife was Catherine or Kathryn maiden name Schmidt. She remarried after Arthur Jacob's death. Searching for information on Biebers in Illinois.

My Great Grandpa is a Rudolf (or Rudolph) Heinrich Bieber born April 1890. He immigrated from Austria/Germany around 1909 I think. He had a 5 Children including the youngest, my great Uncle Arthur Jacob Bieber born 12/12/30. Rudolf died in 1937 at the Cook Co, IL Hospital from cancer after Hospice in IA. His wife was Kathryn "Katie" Elizabeth Bieber, maiden name Schmalenberg, and she remarried a "Mr. Schmidt". Kathryn died in 1947 from a heart attack. Of the 5 children, 1 daughter is still alive and around 90yrs old. She is a Great Aunt of mine (Elsie Putrich) who we have always been in great contact with and I plan to go to visit her in the coming month or so to ask her questions about this side of the family.

I'm not sure if these are the same people, but the similiarities were striking. I was wondering what other information you may have on the Biebers. I know that Kathryn and Rudolph owned a restaurant in Cicero and the children worked there. I have many other little details as well that between my mom and myself remember my grandma telling us of her parents. My grandma died in 1999. Also, I do have a couple other Great Aunts that married into the Bieber family that I am going to try to see what info I can get as well.

I also have LOTS of old pics from my grandma that we are not sure who is who. We also know that they had a lot of roomers in there home which most were also family.

Any info would be appreciated and I am also willing to share anything I have with you.

Thanks!
We know she lived in Canada but don't know where. Possibly Alberta? She then moved to New London, MN to marry Mons Olsson Flesland. Do you have any information that matches up? Please let us know if you do.

Does anyone have any info regarding an Alvin Chester Bieber. He was born in Philadelphia in 1897 and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in architecture. He was married to Matilda Smolens, also from Philadelphia. This is possibly the Bieber's from the Jewish side of the family. Anything would be helpful. Thanks, Pat (Bieber) Sundermier
