Parents of Charles A Bien born ~Oct 1862 in Ohio???

His wife was Sophilda(b.Jan 1864 in Ohio).

They had three children, Merle A Bien(b.1884), Beryl B Bien(b.1888), and Alanson Jay Bien(b.1890). Alanson Jay Bien was my great-grandfather.

Beryl was also known as Bessie and married William Boyd MacKechnie(1886-1965 known as Bill). Bill MacKechnie was the manager of the Cincinnati Reds and the Pittsburgh Pirates and took each to the World Series (and lost I believe).

I cannot find any records of Charles A Bien's parents. I believe they were from Cincinnati.

Thanks,
David Bien

I am seeking information on a Katarzyna Bien who was married to a Wojciech Ostafin. They were both from Austria. They would be my great great grandparents. I know they had 1 son, named Andrew Ostafin, who was married to a Paulina Ostafin(Swider), they immigrated to the US. Andrew was born in 1856. I also know Andrew had several sisters as well, but I don't know their names, I believe one sisters name was the same as the mother, Katarzyna, who also came to US in the very early 1900's.

John or Andrew Bien

I am trying to locate some family members who were cousins of my Grandfather, John Roman Bien. There were at least 2 brothers who immigrated to the United States around the turn of the 20th century. Their names were Joannes Adalbertus (John) and Andreas Adalbertus (Andrew) Bien. They were the sons of Anthony Bien and Marianna Gurgol from Brzozowa in Galicia, Austria, and now Poland. John married Urzula Gajas (sp) in 1915 in East Chicago and Andrew married Lucy Bojosek (sp) in 1910. My Grandfather was an only child, and may have been very close to his cousins. They all moved to East Chicago, Indiana at least for a short time. If this information sounds like your family history, would you please contact us? We are trying to get any additional information that may help in our family search. We would be happy to share with you any information that we have that may be helpful if you are also searching your family tree.

I am the Grandson of John (Jan) Roman Bien who was born June 2, 1880 in Brozosowar, Austria. I think this may have been Brzozow, formerly in Kosno province, which is now Podkarpackie providence. It could also have been Brozozowa in the Tarnow district. My grandfather arrived at Ellis Island February 10, 1905 on the ship called the Main. I have found the passenger records for this but there could be missed spelled words. He departed from Bremen Germany. Anyone having any information about my Grandfather, please contact me! I thank you for your help.

Bob Bien

Hi Christina, thanks for getting back to me. My grandmother, Lillian Smith is the great granddaughter of Andrew Smith. I have a rather faded picyure of George Smith who is the son of Andrew. I've got some decent data on the Smith line fron George on down, but have nothing on Andrew or Maria Elizabeth Bien or their parents and ancestors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in N.E. Ohio, but I have a farm right around the corner from the church and cemetery where a lot of them are buried.
Paul Bien

The following came to me from Jim Beckwith. Paul Bien born January 28, 1757 in Germany, died May 21, 1834 in Glenford, Perry Co. Ohio, buried in St. Paul's church cemetery. His wife was Mary Magdalene, born 1758, died 1840, buried with husband. Paul Bien was one of the earlist settlers of Thorn and Hopewell Twps of Perry Co. as early as 1806. He was instrumental in the org. and building of the first church ediface there, a building combined for Reform and Luthern worship and named "Ribel's Church". In 1818, he was a founder and organizer of the St. Paul's Luthern Church in Glenford where the cemetery is located and he is buried. A daughter, Elizabeth Magdalene Bien married Adam Troup of Perry Co. I do not know if there are other children.

Hi cousin Chuck,
Have you completed the Henderson side of the family? Trying to find out the name of Hinsman Hendersons wife and his parents. Do you have any information of the Gordons in early Ohio. My father Paul was married to Glorine Sarah Henderson, but you probably already have that information. Let me know as any help is appreciated.

As early as 1816 George Gordon moved here from Pennsylavania, His wife was Mary Hamisfar. They had a Son named Abraham, etc. From there I've got a pretty good list of the Gordon's. Please help if possible.
