Thanks for responding. I am sorry it has taken me so long to get this message as I don't always check this email.

I am going to mainly update a book that was previously written in 1972. It is the children etc of Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Bierman and Catharine Wilhelmine Charlotte Becker. There children who mainly remained in South Dakota are Henry, Wilhelm, Gottlieb, Carl(Charlie), Fred, Charlotte (Lottie). My real main focus right now is on Carl as he was my great grandfather. There have been many births deaths and marriages since this book was written so even one family will take me a while. From there I will branch out.

Which Bierman child are you decended from. I will look thru my book and see if I can find your branch. It would be great to be able to add more info. The more, the merrier I say!! Thanks again!

Dear Kris,

I've just read that you are updating a Bierman family history of some sort. What is the scope & focus of your book? I have a lot of data about the Bierman family who moved from Woodford Co., IL to Hastings, Adams Co., Nebraska, if it would help.

Best, John Bierman
Dayton, OH
biermajw@notes.udayton.edu

My grandmother's name was Ida Mae Bierman, who was married to Charles Ross Frye. They had 5 children, Wesley, Evelyn, Euphrocyne, Nadine and Charles, and moved from Bellvue, IL (the hill) to Pasadena, CA. about 1918. Ida's father's name was Henry Bierman. I think they dropped the other "n" in the name at sometime. My grandmother's brothers and sisters where Edena (sp) Harry, Florence and a boy who died in childhood from an accident. I can probably find out more if you'd like.

I understood from my mother, Euphrocyne, that Ida's mother's maiden name was Imbusch, or Imbush.

Augusta Bierman, b around 1862 near Berlin, Germany

My great grandmother told me many years ago that her mother, Augusta Bierman, came to the US in her late teens, sometime around 1880.

Augusta's mother had died at her birth and her father had remarried, to a woman with two older sons. Augusta and her step-mother did not get along well, but her older stepbrothers were fond of her and paid her fare to America when she wanted to go.

Augusta's father was a cigarmaker outside Berlin. The step-sons worked with him.

Augusta travelled with a cousin who disappeared from the New York train station and who she never saw again.

I have just discovered genealogy and would very much like to find out more about Augusta's family.

Are you still looking for Martin "Otto" Bierman? I have the Bierman book and actually updating it. Otto is in my book. Born Mar 8, 1902, Northville Twp., Spink Co., S.D. Married Elsie Minna Louise Borchard. Children are Gordon, Rodger, Lyle, Marianne and Janene. I have the next generation too but the book I have was completed in 1977 so that is as far as I have. If you have info from 1977 on, I would greatly appreciate it to update the book. Any other info you need I should have in the book for previous back to about 1750's or so.

Thanks,
Kris Negaard

I have the 1977 book which is very out of date and not very easily read as it was done on a typewriter and some area's are smudged. I am working on a new book which will include Bierman, Siebrasse, Nierman, Krause, Bittner, Grand Pre' and a slue of other family's as in relation to the Biermans. I still have alot of work to do and await information from the family members as I locate them. Your family is from Wilhelm Friedrich Gottlieb Bierman, the first son of Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Bierman, my g.g. grandfather was a brother, the 4th child of Christian Friedrich. I can so far go back to Christian's Grandfather but trying to go back farther. I would love to send you info as well as get your info to include in the book. My email address is kin_scout@yahoo.com. This is a very long process as the book I am working from is approximately 150 pages from 1977 and I will probably be adding at least another 100 pages. I am looking at next year at least to finish. I am also looking for stories of the various families to include if you have any as well as pictures. Once the book is done, I will send out letters to everyone to find out who wants a copy before I have them printed.

What exciting news! I would very much appreciate your book, if it is still in print. Please advise the cost and an address where I can mail. Marianne Bierman passed away approximately 5 years ago in Florence, AZ from cancer. Her oldest son, Curtis married my daughter, Dawn Gal, therefore I am doing the research for the granddaughters. I can provide her family group sheet forward from 1977 and see if I can get the additional information on the other children.
Again, thank you so much for your contact.

Seeking info on Benjamin B. Lorenz listed in 1920 Census as being a widower, age 56, who was living
with George & Myrtle Bierman. Also Walter and William Lorenz, both age 16, listed as nephews of George Bierman, was living with them. I'm attempting to determine if the wife of Benjamin B.
Lorenz was my great aunt Mary Snyder. In the 1930
Census the Biermans were living in Plain, Stark, Ohio,
but there is no mention of either Benjamin, Walter or
William Lorenz. I have been unsuccessful in finding
any oher info on the Lorenz men.

Hi there

My name is Melina Miller and I saw your posting re: Martha Ann Bearman (although it was 2002 so I hope this reaches you!)

My grandmother was Irene Ruth Green b. 1928 in Dagenham, Essex. She was the daughter of MARTHA ANN BEARMAN and WILLIAM THOMAS GREEN. Martha was born 28/08/1898 in Poplar, Tower Hamlets. I’ve just tracked down her death certificate – 1989, Essex, and found her son – WILLIAM JOHN HENRY GREEN, who would be my great uncle. I have written to William Green this week in the hope that he might respond and provide me with more information about the family. Irene Green was my father’s mother but she died in 1960 and I never knew her or her family at all.

At the moment the only information I have is:

Martha Ann Bearman
b. 28/08/1898
m. 1919 – William Thomas Green
d. 22/08/1989

Martha’s Children:
Irene Ruth Green
b. 28/12/1928
m. 1940 – Ellsworth Miller
d. 1960

William John Henry Green
Details unknown at present.

I understand you’re trying to trace Martha’s brother and if her son does write back to me I’ll ask him for any information. Good luck with your search.
