John Bigg was born about 1800. He married Elizabeth in 1821 and he worked as a dock master for the Regent Canal at Limehouse. James, their son, moved to Camberwell and worked as a towmaster for the Surrey Canal (1880's), and his sons also worked in the business. Can anyone shed any light on John Bigg. Did he have brothers and sisters? Did he and Elizabeth have children other than James? If anyone knows, I'd like to know.
